The sullen looks the two siblings wore disappeared immediately once they saw what building I pulled into. I parked next to the Victor and got out the car. They both did the same, freaking out about being in Carver towers, the most exclusive apartment complex there is. I ignored them and refused to indulge in their excitement or conversation. I opened the back door to my car and grabbed mine and Dexter's things, giving Dezeray the keys. I rolled my eyes and reached in my purse, pulling out the keys to the Victor and unlocking it. I put my things and Dexter's in the car, but put on my leather jacket. It barely made me look any less indecent honestly. I took the gun out of the bag that had the money in it and gave it to Dezeray, my face blank of any emotions, so she stood there shocked. "I said you could have whatever I made at the club because I don't need it to survive." I shrugged and yawned. "I make more than you anyway so you'll be getting pretty much triple what you currently make." She started to cry, "This is too generous, how can I repay you?" I raised an eyebrow. "I didn't ask for you to repay me so don't worry about it. Now lets go up because Im tired and I'd like to get home." She nodded and we all grabbed their stuff so multiple trips wasn't necessary this time. We got in the private elevator which I parked by, but the two remained oblivious. I pressed the button to the penthouse and waited, ignoring the conversation between the two. The bell dinged when we reached the penthouse and opened mere seconds later. We were greeted by a bright and smiling Maddox. "Welcome back Miss C- Miss Quinn" he corrected himself immediately, squirming under my glare. He clapped his hands in front of him. "Well, may I take your bags?" I nod and give him the bags I was holding. I walked past him, down the hall to the only door on this floor. I opened the door and walked in, dropping the spare key to the place on the table. Everyone followed behind me, Dezeray and Mason looking around in awe. I nod to Maddox and he puts everything down. "You get free room service and if you need anything and I mean anything, dial 38 on the phone and ask. Enjoy your stay in Carvers penthouse." He smiled and bowed before leaving. The two stared at me intensely. Dezeray nearly screamed, "The penthouse?!" I rolled my eyes, leaning against a wall. "Told you my parents left me with money remember?" She pulled at her hair, seeming stressed. Why would she be stressed? All this is free. "Quinn. I thought penthouses are usually for the owners of the buildings. And last I knew, a woman by the name of Bliss Carver owned Carver industries and all expansions such as Carver towers." I stared at her, unamused and void of emotion. "Yeah and I bought the penthouse from her because she wasn't using it and I could. Its close to my job so id occasionally stay here if I was too tired to go home. Don't question me again. Make yourself at home and goodnight. I will see you later. And since Im leaving my car with you, I wont need to take you shopping tomorrow which works since I have a very busy day tomorrow. I'm going home now so I can get some rest. I suggest you two unpack and do the same." I left without another word. Im so damn exhausted. I went downstairs and nodded at Maddox before I walked to the parking structure. I was walking over to my car but I was shoved against the wall by a burly man. He smelt like alcohol. I growled, what was this? An attempt at assault in my building? f**k no.
"Hey hey, what's your name?" I asked the dude as he felt me up. "Its Dave princess." He grunted and pushed his erection against my thigh. "What apartment do you live in Dave?" I wanted to shoot the dickhead but figured I'd ruin his life instead. "41b baby. Want to go up there?" I snorted a laugh at the invitation and kneed him in the crotch before punching him in the throat. He lost oxygen long enough to pass out and I kicked him as he laid on the floor. I broke a leg, an arm, and his p***s while he was passed out just to teach him a lesson. I brushed the nonexistent dust off myself and walked to my car, dialing Maddox.
Ring. Click.
On the first ring, impressive. "Yes Miss Carver?" I smiled and got in my car. "Hey Mad, Dave from 41b is in the parking garage passed out and he is going to need an ambulance. You don't know anything that happened and there is no security footage understand?" There was a pause on the other end of the call, no doubt he was watching what happened. I started my car and waited. "Damn, yeah there is no footage. Cameras went down for maintenance. But good job, he deserved that." I smiled. Maddox was such a good guy. "Thanks Mad, please have him Evicted as soon as possible as well." Maddox muttered a, "will do ma'am" and I hung up, pleased with his loyalty. I threw my phone on the passenger seat and sped out of the parking garage, heading home.
I pulled into my driveway and yawned, grabbing mine and Dexter's things before heading inside. I took off my jacket and set all our things on the counter. I found a lukewarm bowl of ramen in the microwave for me and I scarfed it down. Noodles was literally the only thing Dex had the ability to make properly so I wasn't surprised. Once I finished my dinner, I washed my dishes and kicked off my shoes, leaving them by the front door. I walked back to my bedroom to see Dex in my bed. He was laying shirtless on my bed with his eyes closed and one arm tucked behind his head. He looked kinda cocky honestly but I didn't say anything. I took off my shorts and sat next to him in bed. He rolled over immediately, holding me and burying his face in my boobs. I knew he would just like I knew he wouldn't be sleeping. I sigh and run my fingers through his hair, earning a hum of delight. He is really tired and stressed. "Want to tell me about it?" I look at him but he just grunts in response. That's a no. This is nothing new to me. Dexter has been like this since we were kids, it just became more s****l and relationship like when we reached our teenage years. That's when he started to realize he loved me more than as a friend. I care about him and I console him but I don't feel love anymore. Since my father died, the emotion is lost to me. Now all I know in its place is Lust. I keep myself from Dex though because I respect him enough not to play with his feelings like that. "Dex, I need you to get off me because I don't want to fall asleep in this bra because I'll feel the consequences in the morning." He looked up at me, a half asleep look plastered on his face. "Ill take it off you then." He mumbled. I rolled my eyes, "Not my point Dex, I need to put on a sports bra or something." He huffed and reached back to unhook my bra. He took it off me and tossed it aside before laying his head back down. "You have very little trust in my self control babe." He yawned and closed his eyes. I ran my fingers through his hair and hummed till he fell asleep like I always do when he stays over. I grabbed the blanket and pulled it over both of us after I scooted both of us so I could lay down. Dex held me tightly, his face resting between my boobs the whole time. I turned off the lights and played with Dexter's hair until I fell asleep myself.
