Between Work and Family

Eleanor was having a disturbing dream. She tossed and turned in bed from side to side until she suddenly woke up, sweating heavily. She drank a glass of water to calm her nerves and sat down to relax for a while. After that, she got up to take a shower.
She came out, changed her clothes, brushed her hair, and applied light makeup that enhanced her look. Then she went downstairs to have breakfast with her family.
She walked steadily down the stairs and saw only her father sitting at the table waiting for his children. She said in a tender voice:
“Good morning, Dad.”
Her father turned to see her and replied,
“Good morning, my daughter. Where are your siblings? We want to have breakfast.”
She paused and said,
“Haven’t they come down yet?”
Then she went back upstairs and entered Emma’s room, finding her still asleep. She gently woke her up, saying,
“Emma, Emma, wake up.”
Emma replied sleepily,
“Good morning, Eleanor.”
Eleanor responded tenderly,
“Good morning, my dear. Get ready and come down to have breakfast.”
Eleanor left Emma’s room and went to another room next to it. She quickly opened the door and found Jack playing on his tablet. When he saw her, he pretended to be asleep. Eleanor leaned against the door and said,
“You little troublemaker, you’re not asleep. Come on, get up.”
Jack removed the cover from his face and said,
“Eleanor, please, I don’t want to eat now. I just want to play a little before going to school.”
Eleanor said firmly,
“No, Jack. Come with me to have breakfast. Your father is waiting downstairs, and you have to go to school today.”
Jack was George’s youngest son. He was stubborn, mischievous, and cheerful, and he treated Eleanor as if she were his mother, not just his sister.
They all went downstairs together to have breakfast. The family gathered in a warm and affectionate atmosphere. Eleanor broke the silence, saying,
“I have to go to the Lunex company headquarters today. The owner of the deal has called an important meeting, and I must attend because this deal is very important for our company.”
George asked,
“Who owns this company?”
Eleanor was about to answer, but Emma’s phone interrupted her. Emma stood up and said,
“I’m going to the university. I’m late.”
Jack said,
“Wait, I’ll go with you. Take me to school.”
The two of them left together. Emma took Jack to his school, then went to her university, the Faculty of Medicine. Eleanor asked her father for permission and called the maid, Martha, saying,
“Martha, please take good care of my father. I’m leaving now.”
Eleanor left the palace, got into her black car, and headed toward the Lunex company.
Eleanor arrived at the company’s meeting room, dazzling everyone with her elegant and attractive appearance. When Ethan entered the meeting room, his eyes immediately fell on her.
The meeting began, and Eleanor amazed everyone with her intelligence and cleverness. Ethan admired her refined and logical thinking. After the meeting, Eleanor approached Ethan to review the contract terms. Ethan was impressed by her strong personality, and each of them left to go home.
Meanwhile, Emma had ten minutes left before her lecture. She sat in the lecture hall, waiting for the lecture to start. A girl named Sophia, who had innocent features, came up to her and said candidly,
“May I sit beside you?”
Emma replied calmly,
“Of course, please.”
The lecture started, and both of them participated in solving the questions the professor presented.
After the lecture, they began talking and exchanging laughs. They became friends, exchanged phone numbers, and then each went to her home.
