Episode 2:Emma’s murder

Peter explained that he had been walking his dog near the field on the night of Emma's murder when he saw a man lurking in the shadows. The man had been acting strangely, looking around as if he was trying to make sure no one saw him.

Sarah and James listened intently as Peter described the man in detail. He was tall and skinny, with scruffy facial hair and a tattoo on his neck. Peter was certain that this man was somehow involved in Emma's murder.

Sarah thanked Peter for his testimony and assured him that they would do everything they could to catch Emma's killer. As they left the station, Sarah turned to James with a renewed sense of determination.

"We need to find this man," she said firmly. "He could be the key to solving the case."

Over the next few days, Sarah and James worked tirelessly to track down the man that Peter had described. They showed his picture to anyone who had been near the field on the night of Emma's murder, but no one seemed to recognize him.

Just when it seemed like they were back to square one, Sarah received a tip from an anonymous source. The source claimed to have seen the man in question at a rundown motel on the outskirts of town.

Sarah and James wasted no time in heading to the motel. They arrived just as the man was leaving his room, and Sarah's heart skipped a beat when she recognized him as Jake Thompson, a known criminal with a history of violence.

They followed Jake to a nearby diner, where they waited for the perfect moment to approach him. When Jake got up to leave, Sarah and James quickly intercepted him.

"Jake Thompson, you're under arrest for the murder of Emma Wilson," Sarah said, flashing her badge.

Jake's eyes widened in shock, but he didn't resist as Sarah handcuffed him and led him out of the diner.

In the interrogation room, Sarah and James questioned Jake about his involvement in Emma's murder. At first, he denied knowing anything about it, but under pressure, he cracked and confessed to the crime.

He revealed that he had been high on drugs that night and had seen Emma walking alone in the field. He had followed her, intending to rob her, but things had quickly turned violent when she fought back. In a fit of rage, he had strangled her and fled the scene.

Sarah felt a mix of emotions as she listened to Jake's confession. On one hand, she was relieved to have finally caught Emma's killer. But on the other hand, she was saddened by the senseless violence that had claimed the life of a young girl with her whole life ahead of her.
