Natalie’s outfit clearly indicated that she was just out to grab a few things and head home. It was obvious she wasn’t dressed to go out for fun, and clearly, she was from around here.

Natalie didn’t really have much to say to that, so she just nodded, hoping he would leave quickly since the conversation was running dry.
But Hector casually moved closer to her. “Are you by yourself?”
Natalie grew wary, immediately fearing that he might have seen Ethan. Without thinking, she answered, “Yes.”
Hector nodded. “I live nearby too. When I was choosing a neighborhood, I liked how close it was to the office, so I just bought it outright without much thought. It’s the best neighborhood around here.”
