Not much happened for long enough that Sky fell into an emotional hole, self-created, worse today, after being with his father, and being offered a beautiful girl on a platter. If only I were straight, he thought, I’d please everybody. f**k it; I’m a loser all the way around. Oh, listen to my ego talking! That girl might have hated me on sight anyhow. Well, she didn’t have to decide, did she? I hope I let her down easy; I couldn’t tell her why right in front of Dad; it would have killed him. Or, he’d have killed me. The pain in his chest that he knew was disappointment that he could not make his father happy, that he could never provide him a grandchild or carry on the family name hurt more than he wished to look at, right now. Now the sandwich and fries he’d enjoyed so much a few minutes
