Chapter 12

There was a brief silence throughout the meal, after, the servants came to clear the table and pack the leftovers.

"Everyone of you should remain seated",the king commanded,he wanted utmost silence, without Grace ruining it. He couldn't tame her, nobody could.

"Hope you had a nice meal?",he asked referring to angel

"Yes, yes, your majesty", she replied quickly,as if hot coal were in her mouth.

"I know you're still wondering what you are doing here,and why you're not home by this time",he paused and went straight to the point,"I would like you to be staying in the palace,you know prince Alex is looking for a suitor,and you might be a potential wife and future queen for him and the land",he said, allowing his words to sink into her ears.

Alex already looked disgusted,he wasn't hiding his reactions,he wished he could just skip this. He took a glance at Angel,"how can father ever think I will marry someone like her",he thought inwardly

Angel's heart skipped a beat,and this time it was obvious,her emotions were obviously escaping,she couldn't believe her ears, queen of the land, not in her wildest dreams. Her parents have always been wishing for something like this to happen.

Eni still held her expressionless face,she was obviously bored,she also didn't see anything special in the girl,she wondered why father had chosen her. She took a glance at Grace,who appeared to look serious like she was taking notes or key points in what her father was saying. She was truly full of mischief.

"It will be an honor, your…. your…. your majesty", angel said, after a few seconds of silence, stammering,she was obviously speechless,it came as a shock. "why didn't mother tell her all these",she thought inwardly

"Am glad you're pleased with it",he stood up and walked out of the dining hall, all the servant bowed

Eni stood up almost immediately her father left,and walked towards the dining entrance

"The servant on your left will show you to your room",she said and left the dining hall, leaving Alex, Grace,and Angel. Her presence was not needed there anymore,and she walked straight to her room in the king's quarters.

"Welcome sister in-law",she said, standing up,with a smirk hanging on her beautiful face,and left.

Alex followed leaving only Angel at the table. She couldn't digest what she just Heard. If she was in a dream,she badly needed to wake up. She saw what's happening as a nightmare.

"Milady",the servant on the left, called bowing, breaking Angel from her thoughts.

Angel stood up and left the dining, she didn't like the way the servants stood watching, it's almost like she was punishing them. She left the dining hall with the servant following her almost immediately.

She wasn't used to the royal setting,her father lost his kingdom to another when she was just three,she had never felt what royalty was like,she was lucky that her best friend's father, King Peter,took pity on her family and gave them a befitting place to stay.

She followed the servant closely, until she reached the king quarters. She kept following, until the servant walked to a room,and stood in front of the door.

Her heart skipped a beat again,she should have fainted considering the number of skipped heart beats. Her room was right beside the prince room.
