The crew set out the next morning, packing necessary herbs on their horses. The Prince and Starfire rode on the same horse. He couldn't go faster because of her condition, she was still unconscious. If not that he could still hear her faint heartbeat, he would have thought she was dead.
They traveled for hours, through different villages. Their unique look attracted everyone they came across, especially women. Soon they reached the kingdom of Bonlake. They decided to take a rest in the land they've arrived at. The Prince and Philip got down from the horse and scanned the environment. Appearing safe, Rowland carried Starfire and placed her on the ground, with a cloak wrapped around her.
"The plant should be around here", he said to Philip
"Certainly", he said, tilting his head around," I'll go search for it", he said leaving. The prince sat next to where Starfire lay. He could still hear her faint heartbeat, he was thankful that she wasn't dead. He stared at her already pale body, she looked like one suffering from an unknown disease for a long number of years. A strong warrior could be weak all because of a prevailing emotion.
Thinking of it,he never wants to experience such a feeling, such great weakness, pathetic, he thought. If he had not known Starfire for a very long time, he would have thought she was a girl who let her emotions rule her. At a young age, she was made to choose between the safety of kingdom or her parents, she watched brutally murdered at very young age.
He heard a slight change in her heart beat and immediately turned to her. Her dull eyes were gradually opened. She had this sense of satisfaction that the Prince was okay. He helped her to sit upright, resting her back on the tree. He immediately got up to reach for his water gourd from the horse, but it was empty. He had no idea he had emptied it all.
He reached Philip's horse, and grabbed the water gourd, thankfully there was a little water in it. He walked back to her and fed her the water. But it wasn't enough. He needed more water. He stared at Starfire, he couldn't leave her here alone, not in her condition. She's too weak to fight, let alone herself.
He honestly wished Philip could return back immediately. He sat on the ground, thinking of what to do
" Don't worry, you can go", he heard
"How dare you use telepathy with your little strength?", the prince replied, facing her
She nodded, indicating that he could go. After a few minutes of persuasion, he got up and walked to the horse tied to the next tree, it was a Starfire's horse, he pulled out her sword and walked towards her, bending, folding her fingers unto the sword grip.
"Be safe, I'll be back soon", he got up, turning around, "Yes, you don't need to reply, I already know your reply", he added and left. Starfire stared at his figure till he disappeared out of sight.
