I woke up as soon as Mason lowered me to the bed. Blinking sleepy eyes up at him, I frowned. Mason took a seat on the edge of the bed after covering me with the sheet. Reaching out, he stroked my cheek with a fingertip. “I have to go,” he said softly. “Oh.” Mason hesitated. “We have another portal that opened in town and another one that appeared near the mountains. Someone went into the portal in town.” He sighed. “We need to go and get them back.” My heart dropped to my stomach. Lucas had mentioned how dangerous it was to send people into the portal.
