onyx nightshade pov Unknown number. I answered. “Hello?”A distorted voice came through the line.“Hello, Onyx Nightshade.” stared at the caller ID, my brows pulling together in confusion. The number was unfamiliar, yet something about it made my chest tighten. I answered anyway.“Who is this?” I demanded. “And how do you know my name?”A low, amused chuckle filtered through the phone. “I am your worst nightmare.”My grip on the phone tightened. “The last time we met, Onyx Nightshade, you were just a boy,” the voice continued smoothly. “I have been watching you grow. I must say, you did a good job training yourself… ever since I killed your parents.”The man laughed, deep and mocking, as if he were reliving a fond memory.Rage exploded in my veins. “You’re a hard man to kill,” I growled, my voice cold and sharp, “but you’re not invincible.”“Well,” he replied lazily, “let’s see about that. Oh, before I forget I heard you found your mate. You better keep her safe.” His tone darkened. “Watch your back, Onyx Nightshade.”The call ended.“Aarrgghh!” I snarled, hurling the phone across the room in frustration.“Who was that?” Petunia asked, rushing toward me, worry written all over her face.“He’s back, Petunia.”Her eyes widened. “What? Onyx… you mean Eric? He’s back after all these years? I thought he left for good.”“Well, he’s back,” I said grimly. Petunia swallowed. “What are we going to do now?”I clenched my fists. “I don’t know yet. But one thing I know for sure he will not get away with this. ”Eric Dickson POV“ Boss, everything is ready,” my driver announced.“Good,” I replied calmly. “Let’s go.”I settled into the back seat of the car, a satisfied smile tugging at my lips. As the engine roared to life, I pulled out my phone. Let’s call an old friend. The phone rang twice before he answered. “Hello ”“Onyx Nightshade,” I said smoothly and cut the call.I leaned back, smiling wider. Like father, like son.Everything would have been fine if his father had simply given me what was rightfully mine the throne. I should have been the Alpha King of all werewolves. But those fools chose otherwise. Now, all I needed was the perfect opportunity to take the throne from that spoiled brat.Ahh… this would be far too easy. Amirah POV “Where am I?” I whispered, my voice echoing softly.I was standing in a vast field filled with flowers my favorite flowers. Their colors were vibrant, glowing under a golden sky. A smile spread across my face as I twirled and danced among them, laughter bubbling from my lips.“You seem to be enjoying yourself, my child.”I froze.“Who said that?” I asked, spinning around.A woman stood a few steps away, her back turned to me. She radiated a strange, powerful calm.“Who are you?” I asked cautiously.“You do not need to know who I am,” she replied gently. “Your destiny awaits. Go and fulfill it.”“Amirah!”I jolted awake, my heart racing.“Wake up! What are you saying in your sleep?”I blinked and found Petunia standing over me, shaking my shoulder lightly.“Petunia? What are you doing here?”“I came to check on you,” she said. “You were mumbling in your sleep. Are you okay?”“Yes,” I replied quickly, forcing a smile. “I’m fine.”“You sure, girl?”“Yes.”“Alright then,” she said. “I came to tell you I’m leaving.”“Leaving?” I asked, shocked. “Why?”“My company needs me.”“Your company?” I gasped. “You have a company?”She laughed. “Yes, dear. A makeup company.”“Oh… when will you be back?”“Tomorrow,” she said softly. Then she paused at the door. “Please, give my brother a chance, will you? He’s going through a lot right now.”Before I could respond, she left, leaving me confused. What could he possibly be going through? I pushed the thought aside and headed to the bathroom. After bathing, hunger hit me, so I left my room to find something to eat. As I walked down the hallway, I suddenly bumped into something hard.“Ouch,” I muttered, looking up.It was Onyx. Before I could react, he pushed me gently but firmly against the wall, pinning me there.“Where were you going?” he asked, his voice low.“I… I…” I stammered, unable to think straight. He looked incredibly handsome, his intense gaze making my knees weak. I dropped my eyes.“Look at me.”I refused.“Look at me,” he said again, more firmly. lifted my gaze and caught him staring at my lips. Before I knew what was happening, he kissed me. I was so shocked that I froze, but when his hand slid to my waist, pulling me closer, something inside me melted. I parted my lips, allowing him deeper, and kissed him back. Our lips moved together in perfect rhythm until he suddenly pulled away.I felt an unexpected wave of disappointment, but I hid it.He smiled. “Come with me. I want to show you something.”“Where are we going?” I asked, breathless. “It’s a surprise,” he said. “Go get dressed and look good for me.”I blushed and ran upstairs.Inside my room, I searched my wardrobe, frustrated. I didn’t even have good clothes. Then I remembered the shopping bag petunia gave me.
