Amirah’s POV
Right there, standing in front of me, was my so-called husband.Wait. I froze.I don’t even know his name.Wow. Married to a man whose name I don’t know. Great job, Amirah. I decided I’d ask him later if I didn’t strangle him first. Because right now, the real problem was that he was naked Completely,Shamelessly. Standing in the bathroom like he owned the place. Instead of covering my eyes like a normal person, my body betrayed me.I stared. From his wet hair dripping water down his sharp jawline…to his broad chest…to his abs…down to Oh.My.Moon He looked carved by the gods themselves. I realized too late that I was openly staring when his eyes widened.“What are you doing here?!” he shouted. I jumped. “I—I was about to pee!” I blurted out. “I didn’t know you were here!”He narrowed his eyes. “Or did you know and just decided to watch me naked?”“What? No!” I snapped. “I didn’t know I just “You know what?” I cut myself off, anger bubbling. “Stop blaming me!”I honestly felt like stabbing him right then and there. But no. They’d say I killed my husband. I didn’t want to be a widow at such a young age.“Well,” he said coldly, crossing his arms without a care in the world, “now that you’ve seen everything, can you get out and close the door? I was taking my bath before you barged in.”My face burned. I refused to look stupid. So I screamed, “JERK!” straight into his face and stormed out, slamming the door behind me.That arrogant prince. I felt like squeezing his neck until he begged for air.How dare he make me feel embarrassed? But my traitorous mind whispered Girl… his d— is huge.I groaned and dropped onto the bed, covering my face with my hands.“Get a grip, Amirah,” I muttered. A few minutes later, I heard the bathroom door open.Panic shot through me.I jumped up and rushed into the bathroom before he could see me, locking the door behind me. I stayed there far longer than necessary, just to be sure he had left the room. When I finally stepped out, he was gone. I breathed a sigh of relief. I searched the wardrobe and found something decent to wear a simple dress that didn’t scream queen but didn’t look like I was running away either. As I reached the door, something felt off. I sniffed my breath.“Oh no,” I groaned. “I forgot to brush!”“Argh!” I shouted. “It’s all because of that jerk!”I brushed my teeth quickly and left the room, my stomach suddenly growling. Yes, judge me all you want I’m always hungry. When I reached the dining hall, I froze. He was there.Sitting on his throne like some kind of Greek god relaxed, powerful, dangerous. Why was he so annoyingly manly? I quickly sat down and focused on my food, refusing to look at him. I grabbed a chicken breast and took a big bite.“Mmm,” I hummed. “This is so good.”“Stop that,” he growled.I paused mid-bite. “Stop what exactly?”“Stop doing that.”“That’s it,” I said, standing up. “Why do you always disturb my peace?”He looked up slowly.“I was eating on my own, minding my business, and you decided to interrupt me. Why?”His growl deepened, vibrating through the hall.“Watch your tongue, woman.”“Oh please,” I snapped. “Look here, Mr. Alpha. Just because you’re a king doesn’t mean you get to boss me around whenever you want.”His eyes darkened.“It’s not like I wanted to be here in the first place,” I added.“What are you saying?” he asked, rubbing his face like I was giving him a headache.“Oh, you’re asking me?” I scoffed. “You’re the one who started this.”He stood up slowly and walked toward me, his presence heavy.“Why do you always annoy me?” he said, smirking—though frustration was clear in his eyes.“Annoy you?” I laughed bitterly. “First of all, Mr Alpha, you married me without my permission. You brought me here without my consent. And I annoy you?”I smiled sweetly. “I haven’t even started yet.”His jaw clenched.“One more word,” he said dangerously, “and I’ll forget you’re my queen and do something we’ll both regret.”I laughed outright.“Oh really? What are you going to do?”I stepped closer. “Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don’t care what you do. You brought me here against my will.”Silence fell between us thick, charged. Then “What’s going on here?”A woman’s voice echoed through the hall. We both turned. I turned toward the direction of the voice and froze. A beautiful woman stood there tall, elegant, and graceful, her curves perfectly outlined by the fitted dress she wore. She moved with confidence as she walked toward us, her heels clicking softly against the floor. I glanced at the Alpha King my so-called husband and noticed his brows furrow slightly.“Onyx,” the woman said with a teasing smile, “were you about to beat this beautiful girl?”Beautiful? Oh Moon Goddess, I could feel my cheeks heating up. Was I blushing? Yes. Yes, I was. But wait Onyx? So that was his name?Onyx. I bit the inside of my cheek to stop myself from laughing. After all the ruthless behavior, the scary glares, the alpha growls his name sounded like something pulled straight out of a gemstone catalog. So this terrifying king is named after a stone? I almost laughed.
