Once they returned to his residence, Sara had about half an hour before she had to meet Marcus at the Mock. She couldn’t stop thinking about the kiss with Derek and she wasn’t sure what that would mean for her date. As she went to freshen up, she passed Derek in his office and overheard him on the telephone.
“Do we have a positive identity on him yet?”
“We don’t even have facial recognition? Nothing?”
“I cannot do anything without more information. Safety is the number one priority here.”
“Yes, I understand. But I don’t think he has made a move, as she hasn’t mentioned anything.”
She? Who was the ‘she’ that Derek was referring to? And who is he trying to identify? Sara knew she would have to be tactful if she were to question Derek. So, she decided to leave it for tomorrow.
