Shinbe didn't know what to do as he glanced around for help. He held Kyoko tightly not wanting her to run into Toya's arms. She had no idea how dangerous he really was to all of them. He knew better than any of them just how deadly their friend had become. He would not allow Toya to harm Kyoko, even if it meant his life, again.
"Toya?" Kyoko repeated, sensing that she was missing something very important. The way Shinbe was gripping her arm… he was trying to protect her, but from what?
Toya stared at Shinbe, silently threatening him. "Kyoko, come to me." His voice was hoarse, trying to contain his anger at Shinbe. His eyes were hidden beneath his dark bangs as he spoke.
Kyou's voice broke through the almost silent turmoil within his mind. “Toya, she does not remember anything.”
