Chapter Ten

Thana 

The next day, I got up from my bed and walk like my feet was on cloud nine. I never been happy in my entire life. I’ve been living in this world for a millennium.  I took my daily routine and went out on my room. I am busy preparing some breakfast when Belle came in with a wide grin in her face, as usual. When Nikolas and I meet she always had that facial expression. 

“Good morning” She greeted me, still with a grin in her face.  

“Good morning” I replied with a smile.  

“So how was it” she asked. 

“What about?” I replied.   “Duh!” she groaned. 

“Your date with that hottie vampire” she playfully said.  “Well, it was great, his very romantic” I replied.  

“I’m glad that you get along with Nikolas, I think his good man, just forget his vampire side.” Belle commented.  

I sighed. We used to assassinate their kind because once a vampire become berserk, supernatural existent will be exposed to human world. And with those reported killings may risk them. It’s my duty to eliminate them as a celestial being.  

“I can’t do nothing with that, since I was mated with him, I’ll just make it sure that his humanity will always prevail” I said. “I believed Selene has plan why I was mated with him.” I added.  

“Well, the goddess is mischievous sometime, look at mine I was mated with a drop-dead gorgeous human” Belle giggled. 

I smilingly shake my head to her. 

“Let’s eat now” I told her. Then Belle started to prepare the table, these are usual routine.   

“Why don’t we have a run after our meal” Belle said that make Celeste excited.  

I nodded and smiled. “Yeah, why not? It's been a while that we let them run together in the woods” I said while putting slice of bacon, scrambled eggs and pan cake on my plate.  

“Rain is already excited.” Belle said. “So how are you and Michael? What’s going on?” I asked her after a chewed and swallow my food. She smiled widely like there’s tomorrow, acting like a love sick puppy. 

“Well, I’m very happy that I found Michael, you know after my pack and my parents was killed.” then sadness envelope her beautiful face. I hugged her. I felt her pain and sadness.  

“Everything happened for a reason” I sympathetically said. A thousand years ago, I was on her shoes, my kingdom was also killed by Demon vampire hybrid, the strongest of their kind than the royal vampires. I luckily survived and reached the maturity of a fox shifter, a powerful stage of our kind. I swear to my parents' death to protect all the innocent lives.  

Belle  

I woke up when I smelt a delicious cent from the kitchen, smells like toasted bacon, eggs and pan cakes. I went to the bathroom and took a shower. “Maybe Thana is cooking our breakfast” I thought to myself.  

After cleansing myself and took a new set of clothes, I exited from my room and went straight to the kitchen. I saw Thana with a glowing aura and a happy foot. A grin form in my face, the old woman is in a good mood. I greeted her and asked about her date with Nikolas. As her best friend I am happy for her, finally she’s not alone if I and Michael get married. She found her mate, the one person that will truly love and protect you.  

   We started our breakfast and had few talks. I feel sadness filled my heart once again when I remember my dead pack and parents. I feel Thana’s warm hugged. I feel relieve because of her warm presence. We experienced the same fate, but the difference was her kind was extinct, unlike mine, there are still a lot of werewolves living in pack in different regions of the world.   

We decided to let our animal side to run freely in the woods. It’s been a while since I shifted to my wolf form. Rain is giving me a headache because of her whining. After we had our breakfast. I cleaned our table and wash the dishes. After making sure that everything is cleaned and all set. Thana teleport us in the middle of the forest where we can safely let Celeste and Rain take over.  

    I stripe my clothes, Thana and I looked each other her eyes changed to red orange as Celeste start to take over just like Rain. Only cracking of bones were heard in the depths of the forest then after a powerful growl and howl followed. The forest witnesses the two magnificent creature a white fox stands 6 feet tall and beside her grey wolf with a crescent moon in its forehead stands at 7 feet tall. Both of them exudes power and dominance. 

  “Let’s have a race after the count of three” I told Thana through telepathy. I saw Celeste nodded with a grin 

 I started to run and speed up my pace after we both count till three. I used my gift to prank Thana, my eyes glow in bright blue then vines started to wrapped Celeste’s paws to prevent her from running. 

“Cheater”  

      Thana said through telepathy. Rain smirked and Celeste whined. I let out a playful howl while run like a bullet. I looked back and saw Celeste started to speed up then I saw her grin then I felt a soft, wet sticky matter under my paws when I looked down the ground turned into mud, with my bullet speed, my paws started to slide into each other. My eyes wide when I realized what will happen, I saw myself smash into the large trunk of the tree. Luckily, my gift is nature, I command vines to make a soft barrier to protect me for a great impact. Vines started to form but before it done a fire blast burnt it.  

“s**t” I mentally said. I closed my eyes for the great impact of my body to the three, with my speed it would be painful. I was shocked when the hard trunk turned into muddy soft. I opened my eyes and saw myself embracing a formed mud –like trunk. My grey fur coated with stinky mud.  

I heard Celeste whined and jump like a pup. “s**t” I groaned.  

“That’s what you get on playing tricks on me, wolfy” Thana said through telepathy. 

I rolled my eyes on her. “That’s unfair you used a lot of power” I replied. Then in a moment a splash of water pours in my head. It washed away the covered my fur. I waggle my wet fur to dry myself.  

Then Celeste and Rain started to run like bullet again. After a long race in the woods and got tired feet, we decided to hunt. We walked until the wildest part of the forest then we I saw a possible target, medium sized wild boar. Celeste and Rain started to drool. Fresh scent of meat and blood returned our strength. I shifted to attack mode like what Celeste did, we ran over the poor boar. In a moment we shared and feasted the wild boar to our satiety. After we eat, we sat down in the grassy filled comfortably, blood was all over our snort. We stayed quiet for a while and enjoyed the calmness of the forest.  

“I missed this” Thana said through telepathy.  I nodded and look at her. “It’s really nice to feel the freedom in a while, without any worries about threats and attacks.” I replied.  

“Yeah” Thana replied. Thana stood up when the forest is getting dark, signs that the sun is set to slumber. We spend the whole day in the forest without realizing the time. We started heading back home when the ambience of the placed become dense, then restlessness sound of animals echoed the forest, birds started to fly away, sensing of danger. Then a dangerous black aura enveloped the forest, its screamed terrifying and death. I felt my fur stick up because of the aura. I sniffed the air. It smells like sulfur, rotten egg and dead critter.  

“Careful” Thana said through telepathy. My eyes narrowed when an evil laughed echoed the forest. I saw Celeste’s teeth gritted. Then from somewhere I heard a cutting of trees like a sharp object thrown towards us. With our magnified sense of sight. I saw a giant shining object flowing towards us. We dodge it before it hit us, in my shocked when I saw it. A giant scythe with a skull in a middle, then followed by a deep demonic voice. From somewhere a cloak man appeared with red eye with black slit with an evil smirk. 

“A demon” I exclaimed. It's my first time to saw a demon. And this on ooze with power. My eyes glow bright blue then blades of leaves and sharp vines started to attack the demon. I was surprised when my attack disintegrates into thin air.  

“Belle, be vigilant, this is not an ordinary demon” Thana warned me. I nodded but in a blink of an eye. The demon appeared in front me then his giant scythe lunge on me, ready to beheaded me. With shock I was froze in placed. I closed my eyes and wait for my death.
