ACE'S POV
With everything going on in the pack, the last thing I could ever imagine being added to the mix was Karla getting pregnant. I mean, I had always wanted kids, and it was always going to be with Karla.
I was very excited and happy, but I was also worried. This was a very vulnerable moment for her, and it was on me to protect her. I had already failed once in the past. Who was to say I wouldn't do it again?
If it was up to me, I would carry her and hide her in the cave until all this was over, but I wasn't a coward, and I was pretty sure Karla was never going to agree to it.
"Alpha?" I snapped back into the present to find that I was standing in the middle of the yard and I was staring into space.
"Yes?"
"I've been trying to get your attention."
"What do you want, Lou?"
