CHAPTER FORTY-ONE Rome glowed in the light of a bright yellow sun. From the terrace, the white glare of the many marbled temples surrounding the home of Octavius was bright enough to hurt Decimus' eyes. Standing beside a marbled terrace railing, flanked by two small statues of the Greek god Dionysus standing on dark stone pedestals beside him, the serenity and calm of the old Caesar's home atop the Palatine was a stark contrast to his surroundings the day before.
