The morning briefing did not bring much new information to the investigation.
Firstly, Roger Jardine from CSI Wakefield reported that Amanda Morton’s house on Park Terrace had been extensively forensically examined. There was no sign of a forced entry and no new tangible forensic evidence had been recovered apart from some urine stains found on the carpet by the front door. The urine had proved to be Amanda’s.
‘Whether she suffered from incontinence we don’t know, certainly there no incontinence pads found in the house’ Roger continued, and Grace made a note to ask Kathy Lawrie if her mother had been incontinent. If, not, then the urine stains could indicate that she had been suffocated by the front door, bladder release frequently occurring during violent death.
