TEN
He had decided.
She would be the one, she was not perfect, but no one would ever be he now realised. No-one could ever take her place. She was the ultimate perfection and he had wasted too much time in seeking to replicate the unreplaceable.
Besides the pressure was becoming unbearable.
He had to act and began to finalise his plans and the planning. The realisations of what was to about to occur eased the pressure. Not completely but enough to keep it at bay.
For now!
She had been a possibility for some time, but he now followed her more closely whilst finally deciding. She was apparently unmarried or divorced and lived alone, no sign of children, in a semi-detached house in the Marpleside district of the town, a good address but not the best.
She drove a 2014 Vauxhall Astra, played golf every Friday, weather permitting, with friends at the municipal course at Easedale (rather than the considerably more expensive West Garside Club course), shopped mostly at Sainsbury’s but bought most of her wine, gin, and household cleaning products from Aldi.
She appeared to work four days a week in the office of an IT company located in one of the new industrial parks located along the river and went shopping at weekends at the Riverside Mall, sometimes meeting up with a friend for coffee and gossip.
She went to the hairdresser’s every three weeks and always asked for the same stylist.
He even knew her name, her dress size, and favourite holiday destination, Corfu.
He was ready.
Plans in place.
Momentum gathering.
