‘Danny, where are we on tracking down that VW?’ Grace asked as the morning briefing meeting got under way.’
‘Yes, Grace’ Danny answered. ‘When he left the ‘Bag of Nails’, he drove down Collins Street, along Hillfoot and Angel Street and then onto Manchester Road. He then headed straight along Manchester Road until he was out of range of the CCTV coverage. The plates he had on the car do not belong to that VW. They belong to a twelve-year-old Toyota Corolla, the plates were stolen three weeks ago, it was parked in the cinema complex next to the retail park in Oakcroft.’
Grace made a note on her pad, ‘Terry, can you liaise with Traffic, get them to advise us as soon as they receive any complaints about stolen number plates.’
