DCI Grace Swan seemed almost invigorated by the discovery of another body. Her energy levels, apparently so depleted, were as they should be. Together with Terry, she briefly examined the body, confirmed with the police surgeon that the victim, a woman, was indeed dead and then succinctly gave her orders.
The park and access roads were cordoned off and uniformed officers brought in to secure the site. CSI Wakefield were summoned to the scene and although Grace was disappointed that neither Roger Jardine or Rachael Compton were available, they were on another case, she was well satisfied with the professionalism displayed by Andrew Meadows as the Area Forensic Manager and Deborah Adebayo as CSI.
