Talon black This was it. I knew I was dying, and right in the middle of a war, I had no right being a part of. At least, that's what I was trying to tell myself. That fact had changed months ago, when he walked into my ER. He was the reason I was here, laying in the bloody mud while Werewolves, Fae, Vampires, and Dragon-folk fought against the enemy. As the blood seeped from my injuries, I wondered how many of my new friends were still alive, and would they be looking for me? Was Ipomoea alive? What about the twins Evan and Devan? King Ansloff? What about him? Is he alive? Would he be looking for me? Would he be angry that I was here when I shouldn't be? I looked up toward the grey sky that seemed to get brighter. As the sky got brighter and brighter, I thought I heard voices calling out to me. Everything became white around me; I knew these would be my last few seconds when suddenly an impossible firey pain exploded throughout my body. I guess fate decided to deal me one last blow before sending me off to my eternal sleep
