Neil fell asleep again sometime later amongst the sobbing and whimpering. He was still cuddled to me, with me lying on my back and him on top of me with his cheek pressed against my collarbone. He had held me tightly in a vice like grip and it was a miracle that he hadn't crushed me under his weight yet. I was awake - it was morning, and I could feel Neil's rhythmic breaths and rhythmic heart beats. They were even and calming, contrary to what they had been when he had woken up in the middle of the night - rapid and frantic. By then, even Anish had retired to another room because Neil was going to remain asleep for a good amount of time.
