15 Janine could see enough of his face. “You!” “You,” he replied, laughing. He pulled out his blaster and aimed it at her. “Shoot me, you bastard. The galaxy will know soon enough about your horrific experiments down here!” The soft chuckle wasn't what she expected. “I don't know what you're talking about. And if the galaxy will hear anything, it'll be news of a meddling Xenobiologist's death.” Again the soft chuckle. “What happened to your oath, Dr. Ericson? You swore above all to do no harm!” Janine looked around frantically, half twisted in the quadcart's front seat, the memory core in the cargo container behind her, the cart wedged against the spiral ramp wall where it had ground to a halt.
