I sat at the edge of the bed nursing baby Phleng to lull her to sleep. She was dozing off, but her mouth remained latched on, not letting go. "Is the baby asleep?" a deep voice asked after quietly entering my room. "Yes," I replied softly because the baby was still nursing. After a while, baby Phleng stopped nursing. I picked her up and placed her in the crib nearby, adjusted her position and blanket, kissed her cheek lovingly, and then stepped away to take a shower. "Where are you going?" Phetai asked. "To take a shower," I said. As a mother, I could only shower once the baby was asleep. "Alright," Phetai replied simply, so I went to the closet to get clothes to change into in the bathroom. But as I entered the bathroom and turned to close the door, I saw Phetai following me in. "
