Chapter 7: Club Meet

**That Evening

Alexis POV

It’s almost 7pm and I haven’t heard from anyone other than Kailey and Jacob. They want to go to the club tonight but I am not sure. I am still in shock over what happened today.

His name is Atlas and he was my first real kiss. It was perfect, it gave me sparks I have never had before. I wonder if he will call or text soon. I want to know more about him before I proceed with going out to get to know him.

“Cohen?” I say from the kitchen. He is on my couch relaxing waiting for me to say I want to go somewhere. His room is the one across from my suite. He is always close. He is also one of my best friends whom I can tell everything to without judgment. “Lexi” “I need a file. 1SG Atlas Kelly. I want to read it before I move forward with him.” Cohen nods his head and walks out the living room to the hall.

That night at the club Cohen was close. He has to be. Wherever I go he does. But he stays hidden. He knew what happened and asked me the next day how I felt about it. I let him know everything, every feeling, emotion and how he made me feel.

About 10 minutes later he walks back in with a confidential file. “You know this is confidential but you have a high security clearance. You can have it for the next hour before I take it back. So read it now, I will finish your snack.” I nod and go to the bar and open it. There are some things in here I don’t quite understand but thanks to Cohen I do.

Atlas Baylor Kelly is 28yrs old. Did early enlistment at 17 after he graduated at the top of his class. Finish basic and special forces training also at the top of his class. Speaks 5 languages. Has no kids. Has a family in California; parents, set of twin siblings, boy and girl. Been deployed for missions 2-3 times a year for months at a time. Recommended and received several accommodations for himself and the team. Been a team leader for 6 years now. “Wow he really is the perfect package. A hero in uniform.” I say as Cohen laughs.

“Here I am done with that. I’m not going to look into anything else. Just needed to make sure he is the guy I believe he is.” Cohen looks at me as he is pulling my cookies out of the oven. “Lexi, he is a good guy. I don’t say this because I’ve known you most of your life but I say this as your friend. I think he is one of the good ones. You have never wanted to be with someone the way I know you want to with him. He knows who you truly are and the way you have been talking to him says that you are just as crazy about him as he is of you.”

My mind is blown. Cohen actually approved of a guy I want. That’s shocking. Bzzzz, bzzzzz. I look down and it's a text from him. I instantly smile as I open the text.

Atlas: Hey beautiful❤️. Meeting just ended and I am heading back to my truck.

Lexi: Hey, finally!! I was starting to get bored with everyone in the meeting but me.

Atlas: Haha. I am still shocked with who you really are.

Lexi: Is that disappointment I am sensing?

Atlas: Absolutely NOT. You have been on my mind since that night we danced together for hours. I call it fate.

Lexi: If it helps you have been invading my thoughts too. I’ve tried to stay busy but that doesn’t work. You gave me sparks that no one ever has.

Atlas: Alexis, I am going to be honest with you, I will always be straight forward. I have never wanted a relationship, I have always had fun with women. My focus has always been my career, but I don’t want that with you. I know this is only our second time talking but I want to see where this goes. I want more with you if you will have me. The sparks you felt, I felt them too.

Lexi: Thank you for being honest with me. I don’t have a past with anyone because no one met the standards I had. I also was obsessed with my career. I too want to know where this will go. When can I see you again?

Atlas: I am back at the base now. Waiting on Noah to come on so we can go home. How about later?

***INCOMING TEXT: KAILEY*** hey we are almost to your house to get ready for tonight. Be there in 20. Love you byeee.

Lexi: Well by the looks of it I am being dragged to Club Wild tonight by my friend’s. You and Noah should come. I can add you to my VIP booth.

Atlas: I think you just became Noah's new best-friend. We will be there but I have to go home and get clean and fresh before having you in my arms again.

Lexi: Lol. Same here. We will be there about 9:15-9:30. Can’t wait to kiss you again? Talk soon byeee

Atlas: Woman, you have no idea what you are doing to me. Not much longer and I can give you one. See you soon beauty.

“Cohen it looks like Kailey and Jacob are about to be here. We are going to Club Wild. Can you get to my booth please? And add Atlas Kelly and Noah Lawrence to my list for VIP.” He smiles. “You know you're gonna have to tell your father about him right. Like before you get too serious.”

“I know and I will. I think he will be happy I am finally getting out there. Plus he is a soldier with a high security clearance who knows the real me.” “Haha that is true. I think he will like him too. Anything to make you happy.”

Kailey and Jacob arrive and start their club prep on me. After I get out of the shower. Kailey jumps on my hair as I fill her in on how the club guy is a soldier who I have been texting. I do my makeup and choose a hot white, skin tight dress with rose gold sparkle heels.

It’s 9:15pm an we are arriving at the club. Of course the line is around the building. We get out of my suv and head to the door. Benny says his usual and we head in. I walk in and look up and that’s when I see him. He is looking down and our eyes meet. I can’t help but smile and head upstairs with Jacob and Kailey. We go up to our booth and they are both waiting for us.

I walk over to see him wearing a white dress shirt that shows his toned body. Semi-dark jeans and white Nikes. We match without trying. Best of all it’s blacklight night. I give him a hug as he whispers in my ear “You look incredibly beautiful.” I blush and reply “You don’t look too bad yourself, and we match without trying.” He laughs. “Kailey, Jacob meet Atlas and Noah.”

After about an hour of joking around I decide I need a drink. “Cohen, can I get an Amarillo Punch with shots please.” He nods and walks to get it. “I am assuming he has amnesia with you?” I nod at Atlas and whisper. “But he knows when I want to be alone, he becomes the invisible man.” I smile pulling away as he chokes on his beer. I burst out laughing.

Cohen returns with my drink after taking a sip. I shot the whole thing and all 4 shots without stopping. Once I am done. I sit back and Atlas and Noah are looking at me like I am crazy. “What?” I say with a smile. “You just chugged that whole drink and took 4 shots without blinking. And you're wondering what?“ Noah asks. Kailey and Jacob start laughing and so do I. “Lex can out drink almost everyone we know. Her tolerance is incredibly high. That is just her warm up.” Says Kailey. I laugh as I look at Atlas and he is just smiling at me amazed.

I lean over into Atlas and whisper in his ear. “Wanna come dance with me?” He smiles nodding his head but agrees. He finished his drink and stood up. “We are going down.” I say as I lead Atlas down the stairs. Cohen is nearby but so are several other guards of mine when I am here.

We go to the middle of the floor where I am spun around and brought into Atlas’s chest where I meet his lips all over again. My legs go weak at the tingling feeling, thank goodness his hands are holding my waist so I don’t fall. I am not sure how long it goes on but I could be here forever. Once we stop I turn myself around and he brings me in close to his waist as a start to grind into him.

We’ve been dancing for a couple hours. I lean up to his ear. “Do you wanna go somewhere quiet with me? Maybe for a walk along the beach? Just the two of us.” He smiles “Where ever you want beautiful.” I nod and signal to Cohen. “We want to go to the beach for a walk. Can you have another car sent for Noah, Kailey and Jacob. Also let them know we are leaving. We are most likely not coming back.” I hook onto Atlas’s arm and intertwine my fingers with his. He kisses the top of my head as he leads me out to my SUV.

We get in the back, Cohen and another guard up front. “Put the privacy block up please?” “Yes ma’am.” The block is put up and I scoot over to lean on Atlas. He puts his arm around me and we just talk about life. He told me about his family, and dreams. He wants a family of his own which made my heart skip a beat.

“What about your beauty? What do you want out of life? He asks. “I only have my dad and my brother. I love my career. I was always ahead in school. I always wanted to be a doctor like my brother. I used to beg to be a civilian doctor overseas but with my age and experience my dad would let me. Now I have my chance.” I look Up an he smiles as he strokes my air out of my face. “What about your future? What do you want?” Well I’d like to marry the man of my dreams and start a family of my own. I have always wanted kids but it’s not right if you don’t have them with someone who takes your breath away by a single look, makes your heart skip a beat, and gives you tingles to the touch. I want a love that consumes me.”

I looked up at him as I finished talking. He is smiling at me with his gorgeous eyes that I could get lost in. “Sounds beautiful, and the perfect plan.”

***Atlas POV

The meeting carries on for hours and it’s almost 7. I don’t have my phone so I can’t talk or text to Alexis yet. I hope she doesn’t think I am ignoring her but her dad and brother are in here too. The plan is official and her role is crucial. She is more skilled than I believed. I’m impressed and it seems so is the rest of the team.

The Meeting is finally released and I get to my phone and quickly turn it on. As I am walking to our truck I get a text Alexis. Noah looks at me and says, “Dude, I can’t believe who she is. I had no idea. You got heavy with the President's daughter!!” I text her to let her know that I am out of the meeting and that I am still shocked. We text back and forth while Noah drives back to base to switch into our SUV to go home.

“Hahaa… Noah Alexis and her friends are going to Club Wild. She said she will get us into her VIP booth.” I told him. “H*LL YEAH! WE ARE GOING! Tell her she is my new best friend. What time?” “They are going at 9:15pm.” We get home, jump in the showers and change into nice clothes.

We take a taxi because we will be drinking. We arrive at 9:05ish and head inside to the booth. I grab a beer and walk to the glass to look down at the door. That’s when I see her. The most beautiful woman I have ever seen. We make eye contact and I smile. She is coming up with her friends.

She comes and walks to me. I wrap my arms around her as she embraces me. She looks like a million bucks. Drop dead gorgeous. I didn’t realize we matched until she pointed it out.

After a while we are sitting in a booth when she asks Cohen to get her a drink and some shots. He brings them back and I see he sips her drink before he gives it to her. I am assuming taste testing for anything that may harm her. After a few minutes he gives it to her and she chugs the drink and all the shots without a break.

Noah and I watch her down these drinks and we are mind-blown. Most soldiers can’t do that, much less a girl her size. Once she is done she and her friends start laughing. How did she do that I don’t know. But damn it was sexy.

She leans into me and asks if I’ll go dance with her. Of course I say yes and we walk down together. She leads me through the crowd into the middle of the floor. She swings out but I pull her in and kiss her passionately. She is shocked but relaxed into me. I am holding her up by her waist as I feel her legs turn to jelly.

We are dancing to the beat of the music when she asks if we can leave. I don’t know if she is taking me to her place or going somewhere else. “I will go wherever you do.” She smiles and calls Cohen over. “I will have another SUV come to pick everyone else up. We can take my SUV to where we are going.” I smile as she wraps her arm around mine and interlaces my hands. We load up in her car and she asks for the privacy shield to be put up.

“Tell me about yourself.” She asks as she scoots over to lean on me. I wrap my arm around her small frame. My family is in California. My mother and father were both military. I have two younger siblings who are twins. I always wanted to join the military. I did early enlistment and started climbing the ranks. My career became my life. However I do see my future with a beautiful wife and kids. I always wanted a family of my own.” I told her. She smiles, taking in every word.

“What’s about you doctor?” She smiles and goes over her goals and life plans. Turns out we are not so different. She is super smart and strong willed. If she wants something she goes for it. She wants a love that consumes her. And a family of her own with the man of her dreams.

I can’t help but wish that man will be me. Who knows maybe one day it will be.
