ELARA’S POV I couldn’t look at Chelsea when she brought me breakfast. When she sat down to join me, which I had started to insist she do, I lowered my eyes, shoveling food into my mouth. Hoping that breakfast would end quickly so I didn’t have to avoid her gaze any longer. After a few minutes of this, Chelsea spoke up. “Is something wrong?” I looked up, surprised she’d broken the silence. I grabbed my water, chugging it to avoid answering the question. When I had downed the entire glass, I slammed it back down too forcefully, making both of us flinch. “Everything is fine.” Hearing my voice crack, I winced.
