Emma Pearson greeted him with a friendly smile when she opened her door. She wore dazzling pink and gold browline cat-eye glasses, and her hair with long steel-gray braids circling her head like Princess Leia at the beginning of The Empire Strikes Back.
He soon learned that she was eager to tell her story. Over the years, she’d tried in vain to get respected publications to listen. She was less than thrilled that it was a tabloid that had eventually contacted her, but after checking out Wilson’s bylines from past editions, she was reassured.
