CHAPTER 27 - Part 2
My lips parted, but nothing came out.
DJ let out a humorless chuckle, raking a hand through his hair. “Alam mo ba kung anong pakiramdam? To stand here, to love you with everything I have, and yet, I can’t even make you feel secure? Na kahit anong gawin ko, takot ka pa ring mawala ako—na parang may parte sa’yo na hindi naniniwala sa pagmamahal ko?”
I felt my chest tighten.
“You want to be the best girlfriend I’ve ever loved?” He scoffed, stepping even closer, until I could feel the warmth of his body. “Rica, mahal kita. Hindi ko hinihingi sa’yo na maging perpekto. Ang gusto ko lang… ay ‘yung ako ang piliin mong paniwalaan. Ako ang piliin mong pagkatiwalaan.” His voice broke slightly. “Not the fears in your head. Not the ghosts of your past.”
Tears blurred my vision.
