“I was thinking... maybe next time, I’ll slide just the tip in,” he whispered, a wicked grin on his face.
I swallowed hard, my cheeks burning. “How... how many inches is that thing anyway?!”
“Nine.”
I nearly choked on my own air.
I sat up quickly, scrambling to gather my belongings, but I couldn’t find my bra anywhere.
“Looking for this?” Caleb asked playfully.
I turned around and gasped—my bra was draped right over his lower abdomen.
“Hey! Give that back!”
“I love the scent of your skin,” he purred, bringing the fabric to his nose.
“Give it to me! I’m going home!”
“It’s already nine in the evening, Lauren.”
“So what?! I have work tomorrow!”
“Stay here. We’re going to eat dinner and take a shower,” he commanded smoothly.
I tightly wrapped the bedsheet around myself since he was refusing to hand over my clothes or my skirt, which he had casually tossed into a drawer.
“Don’t bother hiding your body. I’ve already seen everything... and by the way, your lace panties are adorable,” he teased with a laugh.
I shot him a deadly glare.
“Stay in bed. I’ll order us some food and have new clothes brought up for you.”
“New clothes? You don’t even know my sizes!”
“Are you sure about that?” He smirked.
I glared at him, annoyed—even though, deep down, I couldn’t deny that my body had thoroughly enjoyed whatever just happened.
“Aren’t you going to put some clothes on or wrap a towel around your waist?!”
“I’m just trying to keep myself cool. Besides, it’s hot in here,” he replied effortlessly.
Suddenly, a knock sounded at the door. I instantly buried myself under the comforter.
Caleb walked over, grabbed a room service tray from the staff at the door, and set it on the table.
“Get up, Lauren. Time to eat.”
I peeked out from under the blanket. The smell of rich, delicious food filled the air.
“Get away from me, you pervert!” I yelled.
I quickly spotted a plush towel on a chair, grabbed it, and wrapped it securely around my body before yanking the comforter off Caleb and throwing it over his shoulders.
He chuckled, casually picking me up in his arms and setting me down on a chair by the dining table.
“Can we do it again after we eat?” he asked smoothly.
“Can we do what?! I want to go home! What do you take me for?!” I snapped.
Then it hit me—Boss Jared was the one who told me to do overtime, which led directly to...this.
“I need an explanation from Boss Jared!”
“Eat first.”
“No! What if you drugged the food?! You did that to me last time!”
“I promise you, there are no drugs in the food,” he said patiently.
“Fine! You take a bite first!”
He smiled, taking a fork and eating a piece of steak right in front of me. “See? Perfectly safe.”
I grumbled, snatching my fork and taking a bite. It was delicious.
“You’re so cute when you’re angry, Lauren,” Caleb murmured, leaning his chin on his hand. “I love your hair, your lips, your body... everything.”
“Whatever, you shameless flirt,” I muttered, taking another bite.
He just laughed softly. “Can I take a shower now? I really need to go home.”
“We’re taking a shower together, and you’re sleeping here tonight,” he stated firmly.
“I told you, I have work tomorrow!”
“It’s late, it’s dark, and you’re not going to find a decent ride at this hour.”
“I am not showering with you! You’re going to touch me again, and I’m going to sue you for harassment!”
“Really? It was just a little rubbing, and you clearly enjoyed every second of it,” he pointed out smoothly.
I went dead silent, unable to argue back.
“Come on. Let me wash you,” he said, that dangerous glint returning to his eyes.
“What do you mean, let me wash you?!” I raised an eyebrow.
“I mean we’re sharing the shower.”
“I’m going first! You’re disgusting, and it’s all your fault my body feels sticky!” I yelled, darting up from the chair and sprinting straight into the bathroom before he could catch me.
I slammed the heavy door shut and locked it. I could hear his low, deep laugh echo from the bedroom.
“Gosh... that man is out of his mind,” I muttered, leaning against the door to catch my breath as I turned on the shower.
The bathroom was breathtakingly luxurious. The shelves were stocked with high-end designer soaps, imported body washes, and plush cashmere towels.
“Nice view. You look exceptionally sexy right now,” a deep voice purred.
I whipped my head around—and there stood Caleb, leaning casually against the inner glass door, biting his lower lip as if he were enjoying a private show.
Panicking as I saw him standing there, I nearly slipped on the slick tiles.
“Are you really that obsessed with me that you’re peeping in the bathroom?!” I yelled at him.
“Why? Is there something wrong with that?” He chuckled smoothly.
“Are you seriously just going to stand there?! Hello, I’m taking a shower!”
“Keep going. I don’t mind.” The raw hunger in his eyes was blindingly obvious.
Why on earth is there no shower curtain in this bathroom?! It’s completely clear glass! He can see everything!
“I want to join you,” he purred, stepping closer. “I can scratch your back.”
“Get away from me, you pervert!” I snapped, my heart hammering against my ribs. Lord, please, I’m still a virgin! I want to get married first!
“No need to hide all of that—I’ve already seen everything,” he chuckled, his eyes trailing down my frame.
I couldn’t move an inch. The thin bath towel was the only thing standing between me and utter exposure. If it slipped, it would literally be see the world for him.
“Don’t you have any basic human decency?!”
“What’s wrong? This is private. It’s just you and me taking a shower,” he said, taking another deliberate step toward me.
“Stay right there! Don’t come any closer!” I screamed.
“Okay, okay... but can I touch you? My hands are itching. I think they really want to touch your... hmm... chest.”
“Why are you doing this to me?!” I pleaded, trying to back away until my spine hit the cold glass wall. “I just want to go home and do my job in peace!”
He simply offered a crooked smile, closing the remaining distance between us. Before I could react, he pressed me gently against the wall, trapping me completely within the frame of his broad shoulders. He towered over me.
“I don’t know, Lauren... but every time I look at you, I completely lose control.”
“Am I really that gorgeous that you’ve turned into an addict?!”
Instead of answering, he leaned down and pressed a hot kiss against my neck, trailing his tongue along my skin. He pressed his hips flush against mine, and I felt the hard, intimidating length of his manhood stirring against my thigh again.
A dangerous, intoxicating heat flared through my body all over again.
He suddenly gripped my waist, trying to lift me slightly off my feet. I instinctively grabbed onto his arms, but as he moved, my towel began to slide downward.
“Stop! I’m... I’m a virgin!” The confession burst out of my mouth before I could stop it.
He froze.
Caleb pulled back slightly, locking his piercing dark eyes onto mine. A slow, wicked grin spread across his face. Instead of releasing me, he pressed himself even tighter against me, the ridge of his length grinding against my core through the thin fabric.
“Gentle... or rough?” he whispered darkly into my ear.
“Or!” I blurted out.
He paused for a second, staring at me with a gaze so heavy with lust it made my knees tremble. Oh God, I’m doomed. He’s actually going to do it.
“Wait! Your... your sword won’t fit into my sheath!” I stammered, using the first ridiculous metaphor that popped into my head.
“Then let my sword break your sheath so it fits,” he growled softly. He captured my lips in a deep, bruising kiss, his hips pounding against the damp skin of my core. “We don’t even need lube... you’re already soaked for me.”
He aligned himself, ready to push inside—when suddenly, a sharp, loud chime echoed from the main room.
Caleb abruptly stopped. A deep frown creased his forehead, and his jaw clenched in frustration.
He reluctantly lowered me back onto my feet, letting out an annoyed breath.
He leaned down and kissed my lips softly. “I’ll be right back.”
The moment the bathroom door closed behind him, I collapsed onto the edge of the tub, my legs completely weak. Holy crap.
Wait... why do I feel low-key disappointed?! Lauren, you are losing your mind!
This man was utterly terrifying. A single touch of his skin against mine, and my body was ready to completely surrender.
Knowing I had to get out of there, I stood up on shaky legs, washed up as fast as humanly possible, and shut off the shower.
Stepping out of the bathroom, I found a pile of clothes neatly laid out on the bed with a handwritten note: Wear this and sleep.
It was just one of his oversized button-down shirts and a pair of boxers.
I bolted toward the main door, but as expected, it was locked tight.
Looking around the empty suite, I let out a heavy sigh. Realizing I had no choice, I walked back to the bed and put on his clothes.
My mind was still reeling from what just happened. We were literally a fraction of an inch away.
My eyes drifted toward the dark wood closet in the corner. Curiosity getting the better of me, I walked over and pulled the doors open. My jaw dropped.
Inside, pristine handguns and dangerously sharp knives were meticulously arranged on mounts, organized by caliber, size, and blade type.
Suddenly, his words from earlier echoed in my head: This hotel is dangerous at night.
Shit... he’s not just an assistant. He’s lethal.
