Rose is pregnant now. We are going to have a baby in 8 months. She tells me my head is all over the place. I don’t know what to think, I don’t know what to feel. I didn’t expect her to say she is 4 weeks pregnant. That means she got pregnant the night we got engaged the Moon Goddess and my parents gave us more than just their blessing on our marriage but gave us a baby. How am I meant to be a dad? I only had a dad for 5 years. I don’t know how to be one. What on earth am I going to do?

Looking in the fridge, I settled on mushroom soup, lasagna with homemade chips, onion rings and garlic bread. Apple crumble with fresh homemade custard should be a good meal.

Setting the food on the table as everyone starts coming in. Wow, what’s that smell Theodore have you been cooking again? Yes, grandmother, I hope you like it. Slowly walking over, she gives me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. Right, let’s all sit down and eat before the food goes cold. As always, everyone loved my food and there was nothing left by the time we had all finished.

At the doctors' the next day, it seemed the whole family have come with us. This room doesn’t seem big enough for use all, but no one will leave. The doctor came in. She had taken blood from Rose beforehand. Well, I have looked over the test. I can confirm you are pregnant Rose around 4 weeks if I’m right. So here are the vitamins you need to start taking: one in the morning and one in the evening to be taken with food. Only light exercise, so no more pack training. I thought Rose would blow up about this, but she didn’t. She just sat there smiling and nodding her head. I’m so proud of her. She’s taking this so well. Theodore here is a list of foods and drinks Rose can and cannot have also food that she needs to eat at every meal. All the information is on these leaflets. There are plenty of baby books in the library if you need to read up on anything. Anything you’re unsure about, just give me a ring day or night any problems you think you might have with the baby again. Call me day or night. This is going to be one special baby.

Over the next 2 months, I made all of Rose’s food, making sure to stick to everything on the list the doctor gave me. I have read every book I can find in the library about pregnancy and baby. My training has increased as I want to be able to protect Rose and our baby at all costs. My family remind me they are here and will protect them with their lives as well, but I lost my family before. I won’t let that happen again.

Today is the day we get to see the baby and the whole family are coming along with us. Rose is lying on the bed. We are all around her, excited to see the baby. The doctor came in with a machine. I’m squeezing Rose’s hand. She pats mine to let me know I’m squeezing too hard. The doctor puts cold jelly on Rose’s tummy, then a wand-looking thing and the machine comes to life. There’s what looks like static. The picture becomes clearer. We all gasp as one. The doctor points to the machine where the baby is all looks good. I’m just going to take the measurements of the body, legs, head and heart.

Now over to baby number 2, and I will do the same with this one. Ummm what did you just say doctor 2 babies? Yes, I said number 2 but in fact there are 3 babies inside Rose. 3 babies? You said 3 babies? Rose, what are we going to do with 3 babies? When we talked you said 1 baby not 3 babies? Calm down Theodore, my grandmother says, smiling at me as if this is funny.
