The bike speeds through the trees, past the street of Pinecrest. Everything else blowing around me, a firm destination in mind. I hadn't really been to the forest reserve before and there were thousands of ways this could go wrong, but I'm willing to give it my all, more than ready, actually.
My mind raced with the panic about shifting after suppressing my wolf for so long. My fingers tighten on the bike controls. What if I was too weak? I thought, my gut twisting. What if, after five years of scented candles all around the apartment and sneaking in suppressant pills from the neighboring market, I have damaged something fundamental in my wolf?
