Chapter Four Naturally, the first thing that Rosamund did when she entered Darlene’s apartment was to light a candle. The thing stunk of the woods, and not the enjoyable, pre-packaged scent of the woods Darlene could find in any candle store in the mall. It was the scent of the woods that had just been hit by a hurricane. She could almost smell the humidity and strange odor of stale leaves and something dead nearby. “Great, smells lovely,” Darlene mumbled, not bothering to hide the fact she thought it was a terrible candle. Rosamund glared at her through her glasses. They made her look as if she was nearing eighty instead of just barely turned thirty. “This cleans our auras, Darlene.
