“Idris, this is my main man, William.” William shook Idris’s hand. “You can call me Bill.” Idris merely nodded. The alcohol made it hard to focus on anything. William pulled up a chair to their small table and lit up a cigarette. He was a burly, well-built man. Even if he didn’t have the scar on his face, he looked as if he had been in a lot of fights back in the day. “So, Atticus told me a lot about you.” “Has he?” Idris asked, saying it as a statement instead of a question. William slid a cigarette over to Atticus, which Atticus promptly lit up. He offered one to Idris, who refused. He had quit smoking two years ago and knew if he tried it once he’d be back to chain smoking. “Your old man here has some bold ideas,” William said as he signaled for a beer. “Some brave shit.” Idris g
