Chapter Four The next morning when Emily awoke, there was already a shaft of early sunlight coming in through the kitchen window, illuminating the latent dust. She propped herself on her elbows and looked around, but there was no sign of Sam and the fire was dead. Outside she could hear some sort of bird warbling a complaint. Absently she stood up and the memory of the previous night returned to her. She smiled again in spite of herself, and looked down at her naked body, at the triangle of her hips as they swam into her nether regions.
