Third's POV.
A mixutures of breath and fresh air filled between two bodies as the wind swirled around them. Bright hazel eyes full of anger starred at sapphire ones yielding them for release.
Dominiah starrred at the man with the strongest jaw line she has ever seen. His looks were out of the world along with his body as it was pressed against her. His one hand supporting her small hand in his large one while his other around her mid section. She practically felt his heartbeat through his tunic as he held her. She had to give him the benefits of the doubt, but he was huge! His bisept could easily lift her up without a struggle and yet he was starring at her as if she was his next meal or a lost puppy. She didn't get that. She didn't even know him, so why would he even look at her that way. But then it hit her. That overwhelming sence of home and peace that she had long dreamed of.
Hit by the sudden fear that it was just her imagination, Dominiah pushed the man away flinging him several yards. Overcoming the scence of de ja vu she collected herself and quickly gotten to her feet. The man had also risen and brushed off what dirt he had on his clothes.Carefully obeserving him, Dominiah looked at him and his crest upon his chest as if it were familiar. She knew she had seen it somewhere but her memory didn't want her recognize it. He almost gave off to a vibe that he was the little boy that she had played with when young. But surely that boy was dead by now, as small and scrogny as he was back then. But looking closely into his eyes, she knew he must be. There was no denying the fact that that those were the sapphire eyes that she had loved and cared for in her youth. The very eyes that she had wished to see for the longest time.
No, it can't be, she thought to herself running her hands through her hair out of frustration. So many years have gone by that she had lost hope and she was doing fine without anyone. Especially those would take her back before she had unfinished business here. She wasn't going back without a fight though, no, she was going to give them a hell of scezure if they tried.
Watching him walk closer to her she knew she had to get her feelings under control. If he was going to sling her over his sholder and run off with her, he had another thing coming. She didn't care if he was the boy from her young years, he wasn't going to be the one to call the shots around here. Not if she had anything to do with it. But first she had to cofirm that he was the same boy and if not, well she would just have to kill him, no matter how much of a god he really looked.
" Who are you?" She asked as he approached her one step at a time. Every hanginng second she watched, he grew closer as if he was going to swallow her whole with his own eyes. She could get lost in them but this was not the time.
" Stop." She said again looking at him closing the distance to a breath away. His eyes starred into her as she took in his face. Strong jaw with sharp nose with small beard with his dark hair in tie. He looked as though he had been carved for perfection with his biseps bulging from his tunic with his cape barely covering his shoulders, which seems broad and very strong.
A strong surge of attraction coursed through her veins, but Dominiah wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of drooling all over him.
"Mine." His voice was rasp as he said those words to her inhaling her scent as if it was seccond nature to him. She wanted to push him away but his closeness distracted her that she never felt his arms lock around her mid-section. She was fully secured by his strong arms that she felt peace and tranquility fill her insides. Not only was she stimulated but also very calm. It had been many years that it almost felt unreal. But here she was in the arms of a stranger, and all she could think of was if it was real.
So much time hass gone by that she wansn't sure if she should embrace this moment or run away. Every fiber in her being wanted this but there was a small part of her that was screaming at her to run away.
What the hell, she thought as the man seemed to read hear her thoughts while tightning his arms around her stomach. It surprised her at first until she literally didn''t know what to do. She never felt this way before.
"Don't runaway." He said breathing her in more and more. Her scent was the only thing he wanted to take in to memorize it in his brain. It was like an afrodisiac for his body and the more he held her the more he wanted. But his strength would crush her, so he loosend his hands of a fraction. "Dominiah."
Her frozen state was all he needed to know. She was trapped in hs arms and there was no way that he was ever letting her go. It had been years since his promise and now that she was caged, he couldn't wait anymore. He tilted her head and smashed his lips upon her, startling her in the process. His lips devored her as she struggled against him. Slanting his lips fully over hers and sucking on her buttom lip, he tasted the venison she had made for herslef this morning. Nothing tasted sweater than before.
Dominiah pounded her fist on his chest as he sucks the very breath from her. He tasted of mead and ale that she couldn't help but stop the resistance and give in. No one had ever kissed her, but why was he so fimiliar?
Breaking away at the slightest, she took a good deep breath before gazing up at him again.
Thinking about the little boy, she looked into his eyes more closely. "Devein?!"
He let out a small chuckle and a lazy smile spread across his handsome face. A smile spread across Dominiah's face as took the initiative to kiss him this time. She started slow until he took the control from her. His perfect lips going over hers in rhythm.
He had been her fist kiss, she was beyond thrilled to experience it with him. His lips invaded her sences as she felt them soft and firm at the same time going against her own. She had seen a few people kiss in her life, but now that she was here, all she felt was warm and tingling sensetions in her stomach going all the to her toes.
His warm lips kept sliding over hers until she felt something. His tongue was wanting entry and so she gave him.
His tongue was slick and warm gliding around her own sparring for dominance. She felt her hands glide along his shoulders and settle around his hair in tie. It felt smooth as silk to her and she wanted to feel it more. Grabbing his hair gently between her fingers, she thread each and everyone of them through her tips. Massaging his scalp in her other, she felt his fingers digging into her sides, but she didn't care. She would heal.
Finally, after some time, she started to push him away with him still attached to her buttom lip, sucking on her eagerly. Pinching his side, he let go reluctantely and held her gaze. It was warm and full of love and something else which she could not put her fingure on. But whatever it was, she was going to find out.
Finally pulling away from each other, Devein looked at her and then back towards his men, whom where waititng. From the looks on their faces, he guessed that they probably knew everything that just happened wasn't coicidence. Loooking back at her, she was a breath of fresh air, but now was not the time for it. He watched as she observed him and then his men. He probably knew what was running through her haid but wasn't sure. There were a lot of things that needed to be sorted out and this was not the place or time for it.
As if reading his mind, she cleared her throat to grab his attention back to her eyes.
"We should find a place to talk." She said looking at him and then at one of his men. Devein knew that Aden was not far behind him.Turning around, Devein kept his arm around Dominiah's waist as if proclaiming his claim. He let out a grunt as Aden scanned Dominiah from head to toe inspecting her and leaving nothing out for his imagination.
"You done." Devein growled snapping Aden's eyes back to him. "You want to die?!"
It was more of a dangerous threat and a warning as Aden couldn't bring himself to look at his commander and the beautiful woman next to him.
"I'm sorry sir." Aden said still gazing at the ground then took a quick look at Dominiah. He had himself pinned on the ground in few minutes with his face kissing the dirt. Aden tasted the sand and the ground worms along with s**t in his mouth as he didn't get time to process what had just happened. His commander ws out of control and all for a woman!
"I told you not to look at her!" Devein rasped out in a metalic voice. "She is MINE!"
"Devein." Dominiah said putting her hand on his shoulder. "He is one of us."
Devein took a minute to look at her before glancing a his first in command on the ground. He didn't feel sorry, in fact he felt threatened when Aden wouldn't keep his eyes of her, so he couldn't control himself. He had wanted his first in command to realize whom he was gawking at. Dominiah was his and his alone to look at. So why wouldn't Aden take the hint to keep his eye off?
He knew that one thing for certain, if Aden didn't keep his eyes away from her, Devein would have to give him the obligation of gouging them out himself.
"I will not tell you again." Devein said after a brief moment until Aden nodded and stood to his feet. Devein and Dominiah watched as Aden brushed himself of and then stood to attention as he gazed at Devein with a profesional look.
Dominah had to surpress a laugh at how uncomfortable he felt around her and Devein now. She didn't remember this boy when she was young and she wondered if he came later after she was taken. But she would know that after talking to them.
"Let's leave here." Dominiah said looking a the two and then at the sky. It was already nearly dark and looked as though it would rain soon. "We can discuss everything later."
"Forgive me my lady." Aden suddenly said startling Dominah for an apology that she didn't need. She shook her head and looked at Devein for an answer. Devein just stood there with the coldest expression on his face that Dominah wondered if the mountains were going to freeze over.
Sighing slightly, she pinched the bridge of her nose and exhaled.
"For what?"
"I didn't know who you were and I was openely gaucking at you." Aden said still looking as profesional as anyone could get. Dominah couldn't take it anymore and laughed. He laughter seemed to bring Devein out of his frozen and cold state that it grew a smile on his face. Tears rolled down Dominah's face as she tried and failed to wipe them away. They were endless. She hadn't got a good laugh in a very long time and it felt like home to her.
After sometime she was finally able to get her laughter under control and breathe.
"Let's go." Devein said glancing at Aden and offered Dominah his hand to grasp, which she took willingly. Devein lead towards his men on their horses, whom seemed figity than normal. He wondered if it was because of Dominiah, and if it was, he would have a good talk with them. Evern lead Devein's horse's reigns to him while swinging upon his own mount. Devein got on and lifted Dominiah, as if she was nothing, in front of him on the saddle securing his arms around her waist as if was a natural thing.
"Where to?" Dominiah asked as he guided the horse through the trees in a small gallup.
"Your place." Devein said as if there was a 'duh' at the end of the sentence. Dominah froze in front of him and turned to give him small look. "What?"
"How do you know where I live?" She asked pulling all kinds of red flags into her perspective. Several went off but she was ready to do the necessary, even if he was the boy from her childhood. She did't care if he had a pretty face and killer body of a god, if he harmed her in any way, she was going to pay him ten times the amount.
"Don't look so scared." Devein said behind her back while rubbing small circles on her exposed skin on her waist. "I would never hurt you."
"Then how?" She asked in a small voice still trying to figure out. Days and days she replayed in her mind but nothing came to mind as if how she was followed.
"Today I saw you." Devein said while listening to her drumming heart against his chest. He kbnew she was scarred but he didn't want that in her against him. "I saw you kill a buck and lift him up as if he were nothing. Usually for a small woman, you don't see them do that everyday." He said laughing a little. "But the speed and the jumps, well let just say that you are no ordinary woman."
Devein took a look at her and saw that she didn't say anything but just listened to him. So he continued. "I saw you and I felt fimilaiar and I followed you to your castle."
Dominiah let out a small snort and shook her head at his discription. It was her paradise and he was discribing her home as run down building.
"I built it." She said proudfully looking at him with a smile. "Do you want to die?"
Devein laughed at her cute angry face and wondered how he could get lucky with such a great woman. "I love it." He said hugging her closer to himself. Warmth radiated from her body to his caging him in bliss. "I've been looking for yo fro a long time, Dominiah."
"How long?" She asked bringing her hand to run through his hair. He let out a moan as she massaged his scalp with her fingers and the other hugging his waist.
"Fifteen years." He said looking into her eyes. He felt lost without her those years but now looking into her eyes, he seemed to find himself again. Her eyes held his love and warmth and all the pain that he had through the years, but soon disappeared with her around him.
"That's a long time." She said as they were nearing her home.
"To long." Devein replied running his hand through her red hair. One braid was hanging on the side while the rest flew free in the wind. But her hair was smooth as silk and longer than he thought. "I love your hair."
Dominiah smiled as she felt his hands comb through her long threads removing the dirt and leaves that got in it when he jumped her. She laughed as she thought about that moment.
"What is so funny?" Devein asked looking at her flushed cheeks and twinkling eyes.
"You." She just replied and leaned back for more comfort from Devein's strong chest. It felt as solid as a mountain. "You tackled me without a warning." She said laughing at him. " Now your picking the grass and leaves out of my hair because of your recklessness."
Devein laughed at how she discribed him, almost as a brut stallion pouncing on his next victim. It wsn't that far fetched in his mind either.
Soon it looked as though they were nearing the thickest part of the forest, so Dominiah made Devein stop the horse and got off. Going through the part of the forest that only meant on foot, Dominiah knew that she would have to lead then around for their mounts to go through.
"We have to get around." She said looking at Devein. "The horses won't fit through."
"But I went through earlier-"
"Earlier without a horse." Dominiah finished his sentence which Devein nodded. He had forgotten that he didn't bring his horse with him but ran on foot to catch up to her.
"Follow me." Dominiah said again leading the way. Devein quickly followed after her with his steed before anyone else could get close to her. Aden and Lad followed after with Evern and Jestin. Th rest fell in line as the path suddenly got thinner and only one horse could go through without falling into the thickest and largest thorns that Devein has ever seen. It looked as if one did fall, they were probably would have to find pieces of them everywhere.
"How did you find this place?" Devein asked as he followed her more closely than necessary.
"I stumbled upon it after I ran from the castle." Dominiah said in a sultrry tone. "It felt home."
Devein only nodded and tuned as she made a sharp right tun and jumped over small stream. They were surounded by thick bushes and trees with thorns sticking in every direction.
"Don't touch the thorns." She yelled out. " One prick and permanent death."
"What is it?" Evern asked withdrawing his hand from the tree. It had beautiful white flowers on it but the thorns leeked red goo that dropped to the ground and deteriorated the earth below.
"I call it the Franklinia." Dominiah replied as she lifted a row of ivy and held it aside for Devein. She turned around and glanced at Devein's men while they were briefly gazing around. " Touch them and you be dead in three fingers."
Evern chivered at the beautiful flower that represented death. I guess beauty comes in different chapes and sizes. But some come in beauty, which really didn't settle well with him. He was glad he didn't have to experience it first hand before the warning.
Dominiah lead them through a wide open cave with water streaming down the walls.
"Where are we?" Devein asked looking around and inspecting the cave. "This is not part-"
"The way you went was what I call the front door." Dominiah said interrupted him with a small smile. "Which is why you haven't seen this before. We are under the old castle floor. I found it when I was exploring the rubble."
"Well, its a good place to hide." Devein muttered glancing around.
Walking of footsteps was heard until a screams pierced the cave. Dominiah and Devein quickly turned around to find the men jumping around like the floor was lava.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Devein yelled walking towards them with long strides. Dominiah saw a snake scurring away from them in the oppisite direction.
"Snake!" Lad said huffing and puffing and looking around to jump at any momnet. "Hate snakes!"
"Why does it have to be snakes!" Leone yelled half hanging on the horn of his saddle.
"This is a cave." Devein stated. " Ofcourse theres going to be snakes. Everywhere."
"I think that they have become cowards." Evern said looking at his comrads as if they grew two heads. " You got soft."
"Bullshit." Lad said puffing his chest up in prideful manner. "I was just startled."
"My ass." Devein said looking at him and then at Leone. He didn't know what to do with them anymore. For all he knew, they were under attack as loud as these idiots screamed. And almost sounding like a, girl?
Shaking his head, Devein wasn't quit sure who was the one that let out the scream but he was curious as to who sounded like a woman. Suddenly, he got the craziest idea.
"Scream for me." Devein asked turning towards Leone. The other men snickered behind the two as Leone and Lad looked at their commander. What the hell, was all they thought before Leone let out the biggest scream ever. echo of his voice was heard before Devein turned to Lad. Everyone was already caught on to what their commander was getting at, all except Lad. He looked at Devein and wondered if it was the biggest joke that the commander was playing at him. Looking around to all the smiling faces of his friends, he let out the most girliest and highest pitch anyone has ever heard. Dominiah thought her ears would burst from the force, she was sure in hell that he used full force, but in a cave? What the hell was Devein thinking?
Looking around, Dominiah noticed that the horses weren't doing that great either. Their ears were purked back and heads straight in the air with their noses ready to kick and jump away at any moment.
"I suggest you quit the screaming before you get kicked." She said loooking at the bunch of men that she thought were idiots. Who the hell screams in a cave and around horses? Are they asking to die by being trampled to death by a horse? Did it ever occure to them that a cave bounces sound back? She didn't know what it was, but Devein was the first i***t that suggested it and she wasn't sure if she wanted to kill him here from almost busting her eardrum or later in his sleep.
Sighing softly while rinning hear hand over her face, she felt it had been a long day and all she wanted to do was sleep. She didn't even get to Durack and she was already exhausted. Not just mentally but physically as well. She didn't know that a bunch of men could bring this much exhaustion over her But she also felt illuminated with finding her soulmate out of the blue and in the middle of no where. Never had it entered her mind that this day would come and she would able to find her soul mate. It was beyound words what she was feeling right now, so all she wanted to do was sleep and have a long talk in the morning.
But another thought entered her mind as she thought about all the men that she would have to accommodate for the night. She only had two beds at the most and the rest was pretty much open space for them, on the ground. She shrugged as she didn't care what they would do but she wasn't going to say anything. They were grown ass men, they should be able to provide for themselves.
Finally, Dominiah noticed that it grew quiet and still silence. Looking up, she noticed that all they gazes were on her. Scrunching her brows, she wondered why?
"What?"
Devein was the only one that didn't lower his gaze as he gazed at her with love adoration.. Dominah smiled at him and tunred back around to lead. She noticed that Devein was quickly following her until she came to a small oval size clearing. Few small trees outlined the walls growing from the stones while green grass swayed in the wind. Half mountains thickest tree line imprisoned the small clearing without any unwanted eyes and visitors. A small rock formation of a doorway, which seemed to be part of the old ruined castle, was a few meters away. Devein thought that it probably lead to into her small inclosed house in the castle that she had built. He hadn't seen or been through this path before, but he knew that this small clearing would be good enough for the horses to graze.
"Leave the horses here." Devein put it before Dominah could say anything. "They would be alright here."
His men nodded and took the halters off their horses along with the saddles. Dropping the saddles and grabbing their blankets, Dominiah led the men through the entrance to her small incloved cottage. The men took a few minutes to edmire their temporary home before making themselves comfortable on any and all seats that Dominah had, which wasn't much apart from a long stool and few chairs and tables with her food and seasoning ingredients. Small water well was built beside the table to fresh water from the spring while dry ingredients hung on every beam surounded by ivy and all color of flowers. Part of broken castle was hidden in the dark as the men took in their surroundings. Everything seemed adequate for them but then agian they never had such luxury and her place seemed as though it were for them.
Dominiah saw that the men only smiled and seemed in agreement on their stay while Devein had a stern look on his face as though he was thinking over something hard. Walking slowly towards him, she decided that they should at least have a small talk before resting, but right away his eyes snapped back to her. She was once again lost in those eyes that she almost forgot what she wanted to talk to him about. But she had to keep her cool. She had to keep her mind focused on the present and right now it was his scowl. Was it her or her place?
