GREAT ELDER

MARS' GOVERNMENT HEADQUARTERS.   Seated in front of a large desk were the 13 elders of Mars, with the Great Elder as the Head. The remaining seventeen ministers sat at the other end. They were having an urgent meeting regarding the discovery of Earthlings.   "Insolence, how dare someone leak evidence that we exist?! To the point of using technology we know nothing about," the Great Elder raged on in fury.    The Great Elder was the overseer of the entire Mars. He had the power and authority to rule over Mars and pass the seal over to his successor. For hundreds of centuries, the Great Elders of Mars had been passing the seal down to their children or disciples that they had taken. However, the present Great Elder was different. Rumors flew that he killed the previous Great Elder who was his master to take over the position. However, they all died down after sometime. He was now the Great Elder after all, and he could silence them to their graves with a spoken word.   The present Great Elder was a hot tempered man. He was very aggressive and even the smallest mistakes could cost one's life. Hence, all other 13 elders and 17 ministers never dared to slack off.   "I need an answer, why are you all silent? Or perhaps you are an accomplice to this?" He asked as the air of authority seeped from him scaring them to their bones.   "No Great Elder," they all replied at once in fear. Any giving away would cause heads rolling in less than a minute.   "Good, so who was the person?"   "Great Elder," another Elder Dortar Sojat spoke up first. He was quite bold and had been known for that. "We have been looking into this case for the past 14days. However, we found no clues. It seems the person cleaned up all evidence."   "Yes Great Elder," another minister chipped in. "I've been using a lot of my resources to find out but I've gotten nothing in return."   "Hahahahahahahahaha," the Great Elder stood up from his seat and laughed like a psycho as all ministers and elders stood up immediately with him.    "So you're asking me to give you something in return Minister Rakishi. Don't think I don't understand twisted words. How else do you assume I became the Great Elder?" He shouted in both anger and laughter. Minister Rakishi knelt on the ground immediately as other elders looked at him with expressions of 'Who told you to run your big mouth?'   "Great Elder, forgive this lowly Minister once. I didn't mean to play stupid games with you." Every word that came out of Minister Rakishi's mouth left a bitter taste i n his mouth. He was terribly angered but had no choice than to swallow it and ask for mercy.   "Only stupid people play stupid games. I'm surprised our honourable Minister Rakishi is admitting he is stupid," the Great Elder laughed again. His youthful face showed no sign of aging. The smile of laughter on his thin orange coloured lips and pale blue skin made people want to smile along too but the ministers were too scared to even look up much less dare to laugh. The ridicule the Great Elder had just bestowed unto Minister Rakishi wanted to make his opponents chuckle at his face but they dared not.   "Anyways, meeting dismissed. I'm very busy. I want a result before the rising of the Deimos moon in the next 21 days."   "Yes Great Elder," their voices echoed as he left the room and they all followed soon after.   The Great Elder was just clocked 50 this year. Because of their aging, he wasn't considered old but just a youth who had achieved great heights.   Minister Rakishi left the hall last feeling very sour especially with the ridiculing gazes of other officials. He brought out his system shortly thereafter and pressed a special button on it. The blue coloured system emitted some rays as he stepped into it and it closed up. It was the special transportation system that had been invented urgently by the ancestors when there was a great war between humanity and other races when aliens were thought to have gone into extinction. However, this system was only possessed by those among the Government Organization and a few special others for security purposes. *** DRINKER'S BAR...   "I'm the best actress in the world. Our creams are good, but if you advertise for us, many people will trust us more and use it."   "And what if I don't want to? I KNOW your cream is fake, do you want to or do you think you can soil the reputation I have built over the years?" She smirked slyly as the man's face dimmed considerably.   "If you don't want the offer, say it and stop insulting the authenticity of our product" the man replied gravely as he seemed to age times two in an instant.   She frowned for a while then smiled beautifully again, "I didn't want to, but you pushed me to the wall."   The man laid back on his chair as he stared at her for some seconds. Seconds turned into minutes, "Miss, are you OK?"   She flashed him a charming smile, "I was just waiting for you to ask. Do you mean this?"   She dropped a shiny small chip on the table.   "You...," the man's face paled as he spat out a mouthful of blood.   "Or do we need to talk about these?" She laid again before her a disassembled g*n, a thick rope and a communicator.   Blood continuously spurted out from the man's mouth as he lost all will to live. He had lost, this was a very important mission to him, "You...how did you know?"
