CHAPTER 5 : POWER AND LOVE

It's a fine chill morning when we hear police vehicles screeching in front of our gate.Poluce officers then enter the living room where I was with my family.I was perplexed as I had no idea why police officers would have a reason of raiding our house .

As far as I knew we had never been in any position that would invite law enforcement especially to come all the way to our home .Little did I know that only four of us , Jenifer , myself and Carrie had no idea as to what was really happening.

I throw a glance across the room to where Quinn, my brother , was seated. He was drowning in sweat as he stared at the police terrified and not even moving an inch .This is when I then suspected that he had involved himself in something shady.

The officers apprehend Quinn and take him to their vehicles which makes Jenifer to start screaming , inviting a crowd of people to our compound .It turns out that Quinn had been in a situation with Kane's family .

Kane was the driver who was driving the car on the day Saul was hit.Thirty minutes later we arrive at the station where Quinn had been taken.We are welcomed by one officer who then takes us to the briefing room .

It is a small cold room which I admit was not in any way comfortable at all .The officer the starts explaining to us why Quinn had been arrested.The words that came out of his mouth were unbelievable to us as we didn't believe that Quinn could do what he was being accused of.

In ways I did not know , Quinn was able to locate where the family of the man who killed Saul lived ."Your son is alleged to have been involved in the assault against Mark Anderson , who we believe is the son of Kane Anderson, the man who killed your husband a year ago ."The officers said to Jenifer.

We all remained quiet as we listened to what the man was saying. "Is Quinn really capable of hurting someone ?" I asked myself in disbelief.

Coincidentally,Reagan , Kane's other son was the witness to the assault.This quickly triggers a series of questions in my mind ."Was this a set up to intimidate us ?"

Let me take you back a few months ago so as to keep you updated on how our problems with the Anderson family came about .Three months after the death of Saul was declared and we were informed that Kane was the one involved,we were to take him to a court of law where we would open a case against him.

Although this was what we had planned , the Anderson's decided to strike an agreement with us where they were to pay us four million as compensation.

All was going well when it came to our knowledge that they were planning on double crossing us by giving us a quarter of the money and manipulating us into dropping the charge permanently.

This is why the question,was Quinn framed in a set up by the Anderson's to get back at us or rather intimidate us so we would have doubts on prosecuting them.

The Anderson's were quite a powerful family as they had their hands on some of the government officials thus they had the idea that they could exploit and intimidate us .It was now upto me to find a way of liberating Quinn by proving that he was innocent and that the Andersons had used deception into framing him for assault.

As I continue with my digging,I discover a series of lies that the Andersons had presented to the authorities thus incriminating Quinn for the crime .Six months before the alleged assault on Quinn was reported, I find out that he was involved with Sheila.

Sheila was Kane Andersons daughter who was about the same age with Quinn . Apparently they had in some way met in school but Quinn was not aware that she was the daughter of the man who killed his father.

It was only after they were home for the holidays, on a particular day when Sheila invited Quinn to her home so that he would meet her family.

This was the day that Quinn discovered that Sheila was Kane's daughter. I can imagine that must have been quite an awkward moment for him .

It was now upon him to decide whether he would break up with the love of his life as her father killed his father or if he would just assume it , which was by the way not an easy task .

All in all one thing was obviously going to happen if he would break up with her . Apparently Sheila was one person who was quick to anger and with the power she had due to her family's influence , she could easily destroy one's life.

Was Sheila involved in the set up against Quinn as a way of getting back at him for breaking up with him?This was what I awaited to find out as I furthered my investigation.
