A STRIDE OF HOPE

CHAPTER THREE: PRIVILEGED ONES

"Please sir , three more days ,have mercy on us ,"cried Anna a peasant farmer who was being confronted by cartels Apparently she was owing them a large amount of money .Nonetheless they did not pay attention to her as they continued to take her property .Anna was the victim of the file that Saul was working on before passing away.

As they were taking out her things for auction,Anna allegedly holds onto one of the cartels legs as she pleads for mercy.

One of the cartel member kicks her on the ribs and stomach then pushes her to the wall."Move woman, I don't have time for your drama!"the man said as he continued with his work.Anna remains lying down there in pain ,however no one takes interest in checking whether she was okay.

An hour later after the cartels leave ,Sam , Anna's husband returns home from work only to find his wife lying on the floor.She was in a pool of blood sobbing in pain.

Apparently Anna was pregnant,this when she was kicked she lost her baby.Sam rushes her to the nearest hospital where it is declared that she lost her baby.

The following day she is cleared from hospital and they head home.Sam finds out that one of the men , was actually from their neighborhood. Apparently the cartel they owed money from was not a legal entity and thus most of their operations were not official.

Sam therefore goes to the nearest station where he reports the case.After a week of dormant action from the police,Sam discovers that the owner of the cartel had actually bribed the officers thus they were not responding to the case.

Furious with that ,Sam decides to take actions into his own hand.He tracks down one of the cartel members who had been identified by his wife being that he came from their neighborhood.

Sam gathers a group of men who then attack the man crippling him.Somehow Sam is snitched on by a witness to the police.

Sam is then apprehended and he explains why he did what he had done.This is how Saul takes over the case .He has a task of finding out the officers who had been bribed and identifying the head of the cartel. The leader of the cartel was apparently a senior government official.

This leaves Saul in a tough position as he stands two opposition that is from his colleagues who had been bribed and the government official,who was by the way quite a powerful individual.

The case becomes a ticking bomb as the highest authority in the command station were now involved thus meaning that severe consequences would befall those found guilty.

This meant that Saul was in danger and had to be cautious as none of these individuals were ready to go down.

Saul works on the file and finds the involved parties but keeps it to himself. Just two days from his presentation of the file to court ,it occurs that Saul dies mysteriously in a car accident.

All this was being narrated to Jennifer by Tracy ,a close friend and colleague to Saul.

"I have done my investigation and I know who was involved in the murder of Saul ,he is amongst the parties involved and was the first to know of Saul's findings."She continued.

Apparently Mark, Saul's friend was also involved in the case of bribing.

"That evening Saul received a phone call..."We all stared at her in suspense waiting for her to spill the beans as she had confirmed our suspicions.

We wondered who might have been involved ,but what was certain was that Mark knew what was being planned against his friend.
