Beyond the Threshold

As Lyra stood before Kael, she felt a sense of unease. There was something mysterious about him, something that made her question whether she should trust him.

"So, what do you want from me?" Lyra asked, trying to sound braver than she felt.

Kael smiled, his eyes glinting in the moonlight. "I want to show you something," he said, his voice low and smooth. "Something that will change everything you thought you knew about your parents' disappearance."

"What do you mean by the hidden world?" Lyra asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"But how do we get in?" Lyra asked, her eyes fixed on the stone door.

Kael chuckled. "Ah, that's the easy part," he said, reaching out to touch the intricate carvings on the door. The carvings began to glow, and the sound of rushing water grew louder.

The door creaked open, revealing a dark passageway beyond. Lyra felt a rush of adrenaline as she peered into the unknown.

"Are you ready?" Kael asked, his eyes locked on hers.

Lyra took a deep breath and nodded. Together, they stepped through the doorway, and the door creaked shut behind them.

"What's happening?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
