I sat with Marie for lunch in the cafeteria that day. After asking me to tell her everything, I saw no harm in sharing my story with Ryder with her because we were already a thing of the past. So whatever I told her was bygone and not going to happen again.
So we sat together on a table side by side and her eyes shone with great interest while I narrated everything to her as we both ate our lunch. By the time I was done, she was only halfway through her food and that made me laugh at how devoted she was to hearing my story that she even forgot to eat.
“Marie, I think you should eat before lunchtime is over. I'm going to tell you everything so you don't have to worry about not hearing it to the end okay? Just eat”
I urged her and she chuckled awkwardly before pushing her hair behin
