IVY Quickly, I turned on the faucet again and wet my hands before using them to press my hair down in an attempt not to look too disheveled. Then I turned the faucet off and rushed out of the bathroom to search for my purse. Once I found it, I hung it over my shoulder and bolted out of the room in hopes that I wouldn't come across Ryder until I left. Like the universe was against me after hearing my thoughts, Ryder walked out of the kitchen just as I exited his room and our eyes met while I stood on my tiptoes. My body slouched in defeat when his eyes showed that he'd registered that I was about to run away. He looked me over from head to toe before looking into my eyes again questioningly. “You're leaving?” He asked, his voice distant and somewhat cold and I could tell he was hurt.
