I felt like I was getting suffocated as I paced to and fro with unease after Ivy left.
I didn't think I even deserved to enjoy the air around me judging by how she sounded when she told me what she was doing was best for us. I could see the hurt in her eyes and it contrasted with the firmness in her voice.
But I knew what she meant. I knew she was only trying to protect her family from Janet by cutting me off entirely and she wasn't wrong for doing that. She was only doing what she believed to be the right thing but I needed her to know that I needed her too.
I needed her to set her fears aside and trust me because this time, I wasn't going to let Janet get to her like she did with the rest in the past.
Still pacing to and fro, I fisted my hands while rage boiled
