Once I was out of Ryder’s office, I released a long breath that I'd been holding in throughout the presentation and I was glad that I didn't pass out in the middle of it.
He had a dangerous stare in his eyes when I confronted him about sharing our secret with his brother. It felt like he was staring into my soul and I thought I had control but then I almost lost it when he walked toward me and held my hand, I thought I was going to combust.
Glad that I was finally away from him, I took fast strides to get far from his office vicinity as fast as possible. When I walked into the departmental office, everyone turned to look at me with the same eager eyes that they gave the previous day and I smiled. They were so predictable.
