Meera's POV
After that overdramatic 'good morning', the rest of the morning was quite. I moved to the washroom to do my morning routine, whereas Aarsh moved on to the kitchen to prepare our breakfast. I asked whether he needed my help or not, but he politely declined as he told he would be able to manage himself. The breakfast was quite, rather uneventful. Aarsh decided that he will drop me home after we are done with our breakfast. I didn't want to bother him so I told him that I can go alone, but he insisted. We were almost done eating when all of a sudden we heard the doorbell ring.
"I think Lalita Didi finally came. You wait, I will go and open the door." I said quickly. Since the moment I found myself sleeping with Aarsh wrapped around me, I wanted to go as far as possible from him. But alas! Its his house, where and how the hell can I stay away from him? "I don't think its Lalita Didi, she has the keys of the house. She never rings the bell. I think its some one else. You complete your breakfast, lemme go and check," he said getting up from his chair and moving towards the front door. Who has come in such early morning, that too on Sunday? Well its not that early though. Its almost 11:30 in the morning, or near afternoon. Whatever.
Within 2-3 minutes, I saw Aarsh coming back with someone, following behind him. Soon I saw that person's face and it was none other than Sana. Well of course, add some more guilt to my misery. "Good Morning Sana, long time," I wished her as cheerfully as possible. "Good Morning to you too Meera. I didn't know you were here." "Well... ummm.... I was just leaving." "No no no, I didn't mean in that way, Meera. Actually its a Sunday, so I didn't expect you to see her. Nothing else. And please I need to talk to you for a bit too," she said in an apologetic manner. I nodded, then she turned to Aarsh and said, "Aarsh you go get ready and then lets leave?" "You two have a date?" I asked no one in particular. Aarsh was going to reply, but Sana beat him. "Well, its not a date, not this time. Actually my parents wanted to meet Aarsh, they wanted to have a talk with him. Moreover, he hadn't been to my place for a long time, may be months. So, I decided to call him and inform him since morning. But his phone was unreachable. So I came here to take him with me," she said looking at him lovingly.
But how did Aarsh look? He looked uncomfortable. Maybe the same guilt was working in him just like my one. But soon he recovered and said, "I need to first drop Meera home then we will go to your house?" Sana didn't look too happy with the arrangements, so I interrupted before any of them say anything, "Well Aarsh you don't have to, its morning, there is broad day light outside. Trust me, I can go home properly, alone, without your help. Its important to go to Sana's house as soon as possible. They want to talk to you, and I bet that's important. So please go with her fast. Go and get ready and leave."
"No, I said I will drop you home and that means I. Will. Drop. You. Home. And after what you did for me yesterday, its the least I can do for you," he reasoned it. "Aarsh, what I did was a very basic thing, anyone would have done that. And am your friend too. Not only that you pay me a huge salary. I had to save you." I said the last part jokingly. "No Meera, what you did was not basic. Yes, its true, anyone could have done that, but alas, no one did. And yes am your friend and its true I pay you a salary, but what you did was not your job. And to be honest, there were other employees too who I pay much more salary than I pay you, but they didn't save me. You did. I brought you home with me, I asked you to stay back. So I will drop you home first and go anywhere else as it was decided earlier. And don't open your big mouth again to protest as I will listen none of it," he said in a stern voice. I just simply nodded after his long speech. What else could I do?
When I agreed, Aarsh left the dinning and went straight to his room. The moment we heard the door being closed, Sana turned towards me and looked at me, as if she was struggling in her mind. "Sana, we are friends, may be not close ones, but at the end of the day we are. If you want to say something or talk about anything, you can do that without having second thoughts. I haven't judged you ever, nor I will today. So come on, go on." I said trying to convince her to open up to me. "Since when did you know that Deepak has come back?" Well the most obvious question comes here. "Since the day we decided to work with them. You must have heard that Aarsh is trying to enter in beauty industries, and Deepak's company is the best shot for us. Obviously, we didn't know it was Deepak's though. I came to know about it just an hour before our meeting. I tried to stop Aarsh, but he didn't give me chance. Even later on, I advised him to either drop the project or give the responsibilities to some one else, but he didn't listen to either of them. so..."
"So why didn't you tell me anything? You said that we are friends, so why did you hide it from me?" "I didn't hide it from you, it was Aarsh, he didn't say anything to you, why don't you go and ask hi-" "Aarsh didn't say me anything because he was trying to protect me. He thought he knew how I would react." "Exactly. That is why we decided not to tell you. Sana, not only Aarsh but I was also trying to protect you. I may not know how you would react, but I couldn't take any chances. And moreover, I can't backstab Aarsh." "Oh really, you were trying to protect me? Ok, I get it. Then what about Aarsh? After yesterday's incident you don't think he needs protection too? Meera, I know Deepak more than anyone else. Only I could protect myself and Aarsh. I am thankful that Aarsh thought about me, but you should have at least given me a heads up. You can't protect Aarsh from Deepak. In the past, Deepak never met Aarsh, but now he will use every damn opportunity to revenge him." "Then go and personally talk to Aarsh. You think I can't protect him, and I agree to that. But Sana, if you can protect him then do that. I failed, but you might succeed, right? Just because you don't attend any business parties, Aarsh drags me there as his partner. If you want to protect him or you don't want anything happen to him then try to accompany him in places outside his office sometimes." I said in one go. This girl is still crazy as hell.
"Well, I think its time to tell you, rather inform you that from today onwards you don't have to be his partner and go because after yesterday's incident I decided to step in the show. You couldn't protect him, but I will, even from Deepak. You just watch and learn," she said with a winning smile. "Well gladly. Moreover, I am tired to tag along everywhere he goes." I said trying to hide my anger as much as possible. Yes, I was burning with anger inside. Because of this woman, I have to accompany Aarsh as his tag along, I don't mind at times, but that's not my position. Am happy with the PA's post. But here, this woman thinks I enjoy. Well, gladly not after yesterday.
"Well, then its settled then. When next time this type of invitations come, reject Aarsh to be his tag along, give him the idea to invite me. If he doesn't listen, try to convince him. And the next moment, he decides to do so, inform me immediately. Did you get it?" "Yes, of course. But tell me one thing, how come did you know about Deepak's arrival and yesterday's incident?" I was still unable to understand how she came to know about everything. Aarsh told me he made sure that she doesn't get to know any how, he said he has done some arrangements. And when he said he has done some arrangements, I trusted him, trusted on his arrangements. But clearly, I should have checked once by myself.
"You haven't read the newspapers or what? Well, it looks like you haven't. But what about tabloids, e-news? You guys are trending. You wanna know the headlines? "The PA who saved her drowning boss", "Disaster at a promotion party", "Aarsh Sharma almost drowned in the pool side party; saved by his PA", "Is she the PA or a life saver". Wanna know more?" I blinked at her expression. "You know Meera, the reporters reported the story really very well, but next time try to were some decent undergarments under your shirts. Men will find it sexy though, but as your friend, I want to save your modesty, which was almost displayed for a few seconds, at least, on display," I was stunned. Clearly, if Aarsh wouldn't have covered me, people would have got more pictures.
"I got it. I will keep these things in my mind from now on." "Meera, don't think that am mad at you. Its just that, am not ok with the thing that you guys have hidden it from me. Meera, you have always gone to these kinds of parties as Aarsh's tag along since the time you joined the company. And trust me, I have no problem with that. I am even thankful that you jumped in to the pool to save him, really. But don't you think that if I have gone to the party along with him, it shouldn't have happened? Meera, I know you all want to keep Deepak away from me, from Shagun, but Meera, you have to understand that he will not harm us. He will talk to us, try to get one of us back. He will not harm Aarsh infront of me. So trust me. I can handle it. And I request you to let me handle it, ok?" Well, I guess she is right. Deepak never did anything to Sana or Shagun, physically. But we were not sure about others. I think its high time we let Sana fight her own. Enough of keeping her hidden inside.
"I don't know whose business party we are going to attend next, but you are going to be his tag along no matter what. If you only go to those parties where Deepak will be, then Aarsh wouldn't inform you about it. So its better you go to all of them with him from now on. What do you say?" Well, clearly neither Aarsh nor Deepak is a fool. We can't let them ruin our little plan of saving everything. So its better if Sana attends all the parties for a time being, at least till the end of the damn project. Both of us finally agreed upon our little plan. We heard Aarsh coming down, so we already stopped our conversation. As soon as he came to us, he asked, "Are you two ready? Am ready." Both of us nodded and walked outside following him. Sana took the passenger seat while I took the back seat. As soon as we settled down, Aarsh started the engine and we went to my home first.
Aarsh's POV
To be honest, I didn't expect Sana to come today and that too early morning. Did she know about yesterday's incident? May be there were some articles about it in newspapers or e-news websites. I don't know. After my sweet sleep was broke by Meera, I literally became awkward infront of everyone. To be honest, I thought I would wake up before Meera. But guess what, the sleep consumed me entirely. It was the most relaxing thing I have ever experienced. I don't know if I will be ever be able to sleep with anyone else that peacefully. Whenever Meera is with me or infront of my eyes, I feel calm, peaceful. I don't have any worries in the world. I don't know why but that was how I felt to be with her. When Sana came, I couldn't look into her eyes, I was guilty. The peace I should have felt with her, I felt with Meera. I know its strange, but it is how it is.
When Sana told me that her family wants to talk with me, the first thing that came to my mind was about Deepak's arrival. Everyone knows in her family what happened between her and Deepak, Deepak and Shagun, her and Shagun, and every other thing in that aspect. So may be they wanted to discuss something about it. We reached Meera's house soon. The ride was ok, more or less. The girls talked among themselves, hardly bothering me. Thank God. If anyone of them would have tried talking to me, I would have felt awkward again. We dropped Meera, and I soon drove towards Sana house.
There was still some time left for us to reach their. "So, what does they wanna talk about huh?" I asked Sana out of my control. I was really very curious. "I don't know. You know, I woke up, Papa was reading newspaper, and as soon as I went to him he said that it has been long since you have come to our house. You stay all alone here, so why don't I ask you to come up. Its a Sunday, you wouldn't be going to office. so I called you, but your phone.... arrgghh! So I had to come. Next weekend he won't be here so I thought I had to bring you this weekend only, so I came up," she said smilingly. This is the one thing I like about Sana, her parents. They are really nice people, everyone of them, specially her father. Generally, a boy is always uncomfortable with his girlfriend's father. But may be I am the lucky one. Moreover, I really like going to her house. It feels good at times. Its true, because of work pressure I couldn't go recently, but its ok, I had go one day right?
We reached her house, basically her apartment. She rang the door bell, her mother soon opened the door, with a huge smile on her face. "Namaste aunty, how are you?" "Namaste beta, we are fine. But am angry at you. You almost forgot about this mother of yours," she said while pouting. I just nodded in and went in, took her blessings and said, "Sana told me uncle wants to talk to me, do you know what it is?" I asked playfully. "Of course I know, but I won't tell you. You have to know from your uncle only," she said, smirking. "Go inside, they are waiting for you," she said, gesturing Sana to take me inside. They? Who are they? There are more people than her family here? Well, I guess I have to see and know.
As I was inching towards the drawing room, I heard people laughing inside the room. Strange! I was confused a bit. Sana and aunty told me that uncle wants to talk to me, I thought it will be private but it doesn't seem so. Pushing all the confusing thoughts to the back of my mind, I entered the room. Well the scene looked good as well as shocking to me at the same time. What the hell are these two doing here! Does they also know about Deepak's arrival? Wow. He came and stirred everything at the same time. "Maithili! Sharman! What are you 2 doing here? I thought uncle called me only," I said in utter confusion.
"Well, surprise surprise. And no, uncle didn't call us, Sana did. But its just to witness what he is going to say to you. We can't miss this thing, its what we have waited for so long. At least I have," Maithili chirped. Wait, what the hell is going on? "Let the man through beta. Aarsh, come and sit here." Uncle showed me the place beside him on the sofa. I went and took the seat. "Aarsh, we saw the news today in the morning. Why didn't you tell any of us about it? By the look of it, its been going on for days I expect. You should have told at least one of us. I know you care about Sana, but that doesn't mean you will bear everything on your shoulders, right? Well what's done is done, and moreover, am thankful to Meera also, for saving you. The reporters took very bad pictures of her, but I can't thank her enough to bring you back to us. Such a wonderful girl she is." Its true. She is wonderful. No wonder I was attracted towards her.
Soon, Sana coughed and broke my trance. "Well, enough of this now, lets focus on something important, something I have wanted to talk to you now for a long time. We all know, that Sana and you have been together for more than 6 years now. I know how my daughter is. But what I know more is how you treat her, care for her, and to be honest I cannot be more happier looking at the way you do everything for her. Aarsh, its time you take this relationship to next stage. Give a proper name to it. Its high time for you 2 to bring your relationship into a meaningful state." I couldn't understand what exactly was going on, I was confused as hell. But the next few words from uncle's mouth cleared all my confusion in my mind and shook me to the core. I couldn't understand how to react to his next words. "Its time to tie a knot, time for you 2 to get married and live happily ever after."
What the hell!
