Aarsh's POV
Its been quite some time but we didn't find Meera. Shagun kept on calling her but she never picked up, she started panicking soon. I felt bad for her. I promised her that both Meera and I would keep her safe, away from Deepak. But look what happened! Meera herself was missing. She promised me she would call me any time she needed me. But she didn't, she just didn't. Why Meera, why? Vivek bhai kept on looking here and there for any trace of Meera or Deepak. But it seems they just vanished in thin air. On the other side, Deepak's PA kept on calling him but he also didn't pick up. As the time passed, my intuition that Meera is in danger because of Deepak grew stronger and stronger. Vivek bhai kept on arguing that I was worrying too much for Meera and doubting too much on Deepak.
Soon our friends saw me and Shagun being panicked for something. We decided to tell them, finally. Everyone got worried. It was the only reason that I kept this thing from them. Everyone decided to help, obviously. Soon we started searching the entire place. Few of my school friends searched the outside and took their place at the entry and exit points. If Deepak is still inside the place then he can't go outside. He can't escape, not with Meera when I am still here. I can't let him take her away. If now I need to fight him, I will. No matter what I will find Meera.
Its been around 45 minutes we are still searching for them but there was literally no sign. The phone calls kept going, people kept on searching in and out of the property, but still there was no result. When I was almost on the verge of losing all hopes, my phone rang. The number looked familiar, may be in other peaceful time I could have recognized it, but not right now. I picked up the call, and as soon as I heard the voice from the other side, my blood stared boiling. It was Deepak. "So brother, I forgot to inform you I already left. I know its rude not to inform the host and leave the party all of a sudden, but I had to. I have some work. Sorry." Like seriously he called me for this!
"Stop your blabbering and tell me where is Meera? You were the last one she was seen with?" "Who told you? Shagun? Well, I would have lied easily and denied and knowledge about it, but I won't do that. How can I say one of my ex who I loved once dearly is telling a lie. She is telling truth. But right now my concern is Meera. If you don't find her quickly, she might die due to cold in this summer. I will give you a clue. The place is inside the house, her greatest fear darkness surrounds her dearly, but her best friend water is there to give her some company. But not for too much cause her best friend will soon turn into her worst foe. So go and save her. And remember don't do anything that will leak your emotions for her. So bye. See you soon, buddy." And with that he cut the call. Is someone's life is a game for him? Unbelievable! It was Meera who only believed that what ever Deepak may be he won't hurt anyone physically. Now look what happened.
I told everyone the clue. I was right from the beginning, That Deepak was a f*****g psycho. I didn't get the clue. No body could crack it. Someone's life was in danger and that asshole wanted me to solve riddles like a 5 year old. I really wanna know how many times did he hit his head in his childhood? How can he be this inhumane? What has Meera ever done to him? Meera, for the longest in the past, considered him as her friend. She supported him more than any of us. She said he has reasons of his own. Now look how he is treating his friends. I swear if something happens to Meera, I will bury him alive. No one can stop me. f**k my brain, even it also stopped working in this circumstance. I was thinking hard trying to solve the riddle. The first thing that came in my mind after listening the part of water was the pool. But surprisingly it wasn't a dark area. I wanted to search the shore, but he told she is in the house. Where can it be in the house which is dark and has water at the same time? I was hell confused.
"I got it. Its the water tank!" Vidushi shouted at the top of her voice. Man, I had no idea that the girl can shout like this! Nice. I always knew she is the brightest and the most intelligent one in our group. "What? Water tank? How did they reach there? Its on the terrace right?" Maithili was shocked, so was everyone. Its true how did they reach there without anyone's notice? "Yes I remember too. When I was following Meera, she was going to climb the stairs, may be she wanted to go to the terrace after the drama happened on the stage earlier this evening. I dragged her out of the house. But before we completely came to the grounds, Deepak stopped us at the stairs. I think they must have gone to the terrace to talk. Lets go and search there. We haven't searched that place, yet." Shagun said remembering every bit of detail of what happened before Meera vanished.
We all ran to the terrace. It was locked from our side. We opened it, went into the terrace, tried to find some clues which can tell us that indeed Meera was here. We got her clutch bag that she was carrying today. Looking at that, my brain stopped working. "Its now time we check the water tank." Sharman said with a straight face. Everybody moved towards the tank to see whether Meera was there or not. On the other hand, I felt like my legs were glued to the place. I wanted to move but couldn't. Realization dawned upon me when Sharman said, "We finally got her." I somehow moved myself to the water tank to look at the damage. And what I saw pained my heart in somewhat different unexplainable manner.
There she was, eyes closed due to pain or some kind of other sufferings, cloths fully drenched, hair messed up as if she was yanked by someone with it. Bruises were here and there, small whimpering constantly coming out of her mouth. She was standing in the water which leveled upto her neck at least. "Who will go inside? Its deep down there. Until and unless we drain the water at least by waist level, its hard to go." Sana said. "Are you mad! We don't have that much time. We don't know how long she has been in it. If we wait for some more time, fever will be the least thing that can happen to her." "Shagun is right, we need to get her out from here now. Bring some kind of thick rope or something. I will go down and bring her." I said in a determined voice. Sana and Maithili were going to say something, may be protesting it, but I gestured them not to open there mouth at least for the time being.
After taking Meera out of the water tank we quickly took her to my room. Shagun changed her wet cloths to the dried ones. Once it was done, we all went in again. She was still lying like a life less person. I went near to check her properly. The moment I touched her, I took my hands away. It felt like am touching a dead body, yes its that cold. I quickly checked her pulse, it was almost absent. I quickly ordered Shagun to cover her with 2-3 blankets. We need to keep her warm in all possible ways. Others started rubbing her feet and hands so that the warmth can spread in her body. Its been half an hour we were doing that but still it felt like we were banging our heads on the wall. I swear Deepak, if she doesn't wake up today, day after tomorrow you won't wake up too.
We called doctors. As the place is little bit away from the main city, few didn't want to come, while others would take up some time. Still we managed to arrange for one. I, out of no where decide to call someone who is actually irrelevant at this time. I called Rajat bhai, my fellow disciple from the ashram. Within 2 rings he picked up my call. "Hey Aarsh, how's the party going?" "Bhai can you come to the beach house quickly?" "Aarsh, what happened? Why do you sound so helpless? Did something happen to your parents? To Sana? Or to you? Listen tell me right now!" "Bhai am alright, my parents and Sana everyone is good." "Then why the hell are you crying?" "I don't know bhai. But its Meera." After that I told him everything that happened to her. I could hear from the other side that bhai was rummaging something and within a minute a hear him start the car. "Aarsh, don't worry. I will be there in 2 hours. Nothing will happen to Meera." He said before cutting the call.
I was relieved as well as shocked. Relieved that someone is coming who can actually help if anything bad happens to her. Shocked because the way he took this incident in such great importance. Rajat bhai hardly knew Meera, and he was coming for her was a bit shocking for me. He could have told me what is to done, but no. He decided to visit her personally. Strange. I couldn't think about it anymore. Her temperature was dropping. We turned on the heaters. It was hard for us to stay there, but it just had no effect on Meera. Things were not looking good. I was getting more and more concerned about her. I wanted to help but I couldn't. Soon the doctor came. He was shocked to see her temperature. He still gave her an injection but said its the rarest case he has seen so he can't be sure if the medication will work or not. Thank God I contacted Rajat bhai and he decided to come. Some where in my heart I was convinced only the people like us can save her, heal her in these times.
After exactly 2 hours, Rajat bhai entered the gates of the beach house. A sense of relief washed over me. I had a belief in Rajat bhai. I was some what sure he will be able to help us, help Meera come back to us. The moment he came in, he asked in worried tone, "Where is she? Quickly take me to her." I did as he asked. I took him to my room, where I laid Meera. He quickly went to her, checked her. "Why is she so cold? It feels like she is a dead body but with a very weak presence of pulse." We told him everything. The actual part and the anticipated part, everything. "Well, we need to make her drink some thing. Thank God I had the ingredients and I thank goodness I brought them with me." Maithili showed him the kitchen. After about 10 minutes, bhai came in with a glass of thick red liquid, which actually doesn't look appetizing. Well to be honest its far from appetizing. Some how he made Meera drink that liquid with Shagun's help in that condition too.
"Bhai she will be ok, right?" "Aarsh do you know what I gave her?" I nodded my head in denial. "I gave her a herbal drink that will give her energy and help her warm her body from inside, along with some drops of your blood." "My blood? How did you get that?" "Well, you have a healing capacity as your power. It runs in your blood. We always have some of it. Within next 30 minutes we will see its effects. Aarsh it will work, cause there's your blood. It will heal her. But the question is how much? Aarsh if within next 30 minutes her temperature doesn't reach a standard point then she might die, its gonna be fatal for her." I was shocked. No she can't die, she can't leave me. "What? What do you mean?" "Aarsh, Meera's normal body temperature is higher than everyone's body temperature, at least by 2-3 degrees. But now, its freezing. Its dangerous for her. She may not be alive if her temperature remains that low. Aarsh, her body needs to get back to her normal temperature. I have given what I know can help. I even added few drops of your blood, so that she can heal quickly. But we can't be sure until and unless 30 minutes are over."
Fear was increasing in my whole body. She can't die. No. Not at all. I started worrying, what if the medication fails. "Bhai is there any other way her body can get warm?" I asked with clear desperation in my voice. "There is only one way to warm up her body, but lets not right now think about it. Its not very appropriate either too." And that is how, bhai dropped the discussion. I really wonder what other process he has. We went back to the room, and after so much of hard work, she for the first time is looking normal. Her colours are coming back to her cheeks.
Yes Meera, yes. You can do it. Come back to us Meera, come back to us. Come back to me. And thinking about everything, a lone tear escaped from my left eye. Watching her almost life less body, pained me lot, effected me a lot.
