"N-no." Trevor muttered, retracting his arm and enclosed by the ring in a fist as protection.
"Perfect! I think it's now time you returned." Takara said, clapping the invisible dust of his hands before turning and walking in the other direction. Though it looked like a dead end, Trevor knew better than anyone that it wasn't what it seemed. He fell in right through the ground. And now he was in this upside down world! "Wait" , he called out, "What is this ring? And how do I use it?"
"You will find out, wear it and get out of here. When you're out, the ring will tell you the rest." He answered Trevor's questioned respectively, without batting an eye backwards. Takara stopped right infront of the wall, his back still facing Trevor, and took in a deep breath. "Be warned Trevor! No one should see that ring until it says so. Or else." with that said, he walked into the wall and disappeared infront of Trevor.
"Wait wha...." Trevor called out ik haste. He still had alot of questions that needed answers, but the man that called himself a keeper was already gone.
Sighing in disdain, he looked around the haunted house he was in. His phobia no longer there. And slid the ring on his thumb.
Nothing happened! It just dangled around his thumb as loosely as he had expected.
This was ridiculous. But he had no choice. If this was the only way out of here, then he had to be patient and keep on trying the ring on different fingers.
But after a few tries, the ring started changing when he placed it on the pointing finger on his left hand.
The vine like design started moving and constricting with a sound unpleasant to hear. Overlapping each other as closed in on the space around his finger.
Though it scared the hell out him, he was awestruck by its transformation. The ring that couldn't fit his thumb earlier had resized to suit him. But before he could examine it further, he realized he had been teleported outside. And immediately, the ground he stood on lost its matter and sucked him in a blink of an eye.
He flew at a rate faster than a rocket's ascension like he was being forcefully ejected. Until he reached a certain point in the clouds, where he disappeared with out a trace.
The deafening sound of quick wind had ended and his clothes had stopped flapping. The air around him now felt warm and quite.
Slowly lowering his hands that had crossed infront if his head for protection, he looked around the place.
He was back in the library! He had never thought he would be relieved to be back in this school, no scratch that, military base.
"Trevor," a voice stuttled him. Nearly causing his heart to jump out of his chest. He turned around to see who had called him, and there stood the librarian holding a stack of heavy books while looking at him.
Oh no! Did she see everything?! He lamented inwardly.
But the question she asked put him at ease.
" What are you doing there?"
"Uh.... I accidentally dropped a book." he said, turning around and picking up the book with no titles on the floor before showing it to the librarian to support his claims.
"Still studying I see." she smiled at him before continuing with her work.
Trevor released a sigh of relief after she left. His eyes momentarily falling on the ring on his left hand.
"No one should see the ring until it says so or else!" Tamara's words played in his head. Crap, he had almost revealed the ring when he showed the librarian the book. At this moment, he wouldn't be surprised if the ring sucked him too. Luckily, she didn't see it.
Placubg the book back in the shelf, Trevor left the library and headed for his room.
"What is behind your back?" Came Isaac's question as soon as Trevor stepped into the room and shut the door behind him.
"It's nothing."
The orange light that illuminated Isaac's face dissipated as he ended his spell and stood up from his bed. "It doesn't look like nothing." He raised his brow in suspicion, slowly closing the space between them.
"Show me your hand." He commanded, but knowing that he would go against him, Isaac forcefully pulled his left hand from behind his back.
"No one is supposed to see the ring!" Trevor yelled at himself inwardly when he saw Isaac reach for the scrap cloth he used to wrao around his hand. This was all too much. Couldn't things just be easy for him. On his way here, he had discovered that the rubg wouldn't slide down his finger no matter how hard he tried. And cutting off his finger east an option. So much for keeping it away from everyone's curious eyes. The ring had a shiny ruby on it. How would it not catch the attention of others?
Luckily, he had sought if a temporary solution, he had cut a piece of his cloth and used it to wrap around his hand like a bandage.
But now, Isaac was going to spoil everything. He had to do something quick.
"Sssttttttt!" He winced, quickly retracting gus hand as if he was in pain. And quietly hoped he bought it.
"What happened to you?"
"I accidentally cut myself. Nothing major." Came Trevor's reply without butting an eye.
"That will teach you not to be careless." Isaac rolled his eyes at Trevor and returned to his bed.
"Thank heavens." Trevor let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and climbed his bed for some sleep.
The glowing fire dots in the glass container going off as soon as his feet left the ground. Plunging the room into darkness.
Alert! Alert! A female emotionless AI voice sounded, almost throwing Trevor from his bed in a panic.
“What the crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Trevor cursed loudly. But why was he the only one that reacted. The voice was so loud that he bet everyone in the school must have jumped in fright.
But why didn’t Isaac move. Even after he yelled his lungs out like that. He should have at least heard that. Isaac was the light sleeper between them. What if he got a stroke from it and was now unconscious?! He pushed the light blanket off his body as he prepared to jump down and check on Isaac, but a blue semi-transparent panel suddenly illuminated the air in front of him. “What the……” He gasped as he looked at broad display.
Alert! Alert! The voice sounded again. Though still loud, it wasn’t as frightening as the first time. Now that he knew it was a system notification.

At the rate he is, it is hard to say whether he will make it past level 2. His performance is below average and needs to improve if he wishes not to be backlashed.
After the emotionless AI read everything on the panel, silence filled the room again and the darkness returned when the panel disappeared.
“Crap……..5 exp-200exp, what th- position…- skills o!??? Level 0!!!!! Backlashed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” what a way to discourage him. He tugged his hair in frustration. Hie tightened his jaw. And the sound of his teeth grinding could be heard. The heavy feeling in his chest made him want to let out a scream if he didn’t stop the feeling of enraged disappointment. After all this, this was his evaluation. Even a simple congratulations for reaching stone rank would be enough but no. They wanted to rub it in. Do they know the stress he has been through lately? What did they want from him!
