The remaining slave slayer, seeing this, ran as fast as his legs could carry him.
He hit the wall hard and fell since he had miscalculated the door's position but never the less he got back on his feet and made a ran for it. As long as he could get away from this demon teen.
"Are you okay?" One of the orphan teen said with concern as he helped Page up.
"Am okay Isaac."
Page forced out a little smile on her face.
"Why did you let the slaver go?" questioned Isaac; glaring icicles at Trevor.
Although Trevor had no intention of letting the slaver go. His magic was limited and would only be used once; within the first 12 seconds of activation; never to be used again for the rest of the day.
"Now they'll know that you're a mage. Do you know what that means?" Isaac paused to emphasize the seriousness of the situation, "But just in case you don't know, they'll come back with other mages and take you in their custody to work tirelessly for the mage's guilds." he pointed out the obvious with a slightly raised tone.
Isaac looked to be seventeen years old and slightly taller than Trevor. He always had a serious expression on his face and was rather cold when speaking. Just like the rest of the kids, he was skinny but slightly muscular though he still had a bony face.
Trevor could only look on helplessly for he didn't even know what was happening.
He nodded apologetically and scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Forget about all that for now. We need to find Rose now." Tommy butted in quickly changing the topic.
The frowns on everyone's faces deepened. They had completely forgotten about Rose.
Immediately, Page attempted to make a run for it again.
But Trevor was able to stop her."What do you think you're doing huh?"
"I need to get Rose back."
"And how exactly are you going to do that?" he paused, "I mean look at us, we're just poor street children, what can we do." Trevor said trying to slap some sense into Page.
She fell down to her knees in a breakdown; realizing their helpless situation.
"I.... I... I can't leave Rose in the hands of those monsters."
Trevor softened up a little bit seeing this.
Although Hawk had previously told him not to get attached to the people in the dungeon, how could he.
They looked and felt so real. He could only imagine how powerful the person or thing that made the training panel and dungeons was.
"We shall get her back." he comforted.
A determined look forming on his face settling strong in his heart.
"So how are we getting her back?" asked Isaac, stroking his chin in deep thought.
"With the help of the slave sentinel?" Trevor asked trying to think of a solution but was quickly rebutted by Isaac.
"hahaha.... Is he just going to walk to us and tell us 'Oh hi. My name is so and so and I want to help you.'"
Trevor looked at the boy in front of him with disdain clearly; he wasn't understanding him. He seemed rather harsh and rude towards him.
"Nope. We let that slave slayer go right, he will report to his higher ups about me and I will get arrested. Hopefully I'll be able to find Rose there."
Everyone in the room nodded as they thought what Trevor said made sense.
"But we can't let you do it alone, I'll be coming too. At least with an extra mage with you. Our success rate is slightly increased." Tony said.
Trevor felt a little surprised. He didn't expect that Tony would be a mage but yet again, this was a training dungeon everything here might be related to magic.
"Me two,..." said Isaac.
"Me three." Page said with determination boiling up with in her.
"Alright then. And them?"Trevor pointed to the little kids watching them.
"There's no problem with that, Derrick will look after them while we're gone." Page paused, "He must be scavenging right now. He'll be back."
Everyone sat silently no longer in the cheerful mood they were in previously.
A 17 year old skinny boy's figure appeared at the entrance.
He had stuff in his hand as he walked in with a cheerful expression.
But it soon turned into a frown when he saw the black burnt corpse on the floor and felt the tense atmosphere.
"What happened?"he asked.
" Slave slayers. They'll be back soon to take us with them. They already have Rose. " Page replied.
" Take the kids with you. "
Without another word, Derrick hurriedly led the kids outside through the broken dusty black door and into a shrub.
"Is Rose a mage too?" asked Trevor.
"Yeah she is." Tony replied, finding the situation awkward cause everyone else was deep in there own thoughts.
"Then we shall have to show them that we all are. If what Isaac said is true, then that means that this council attaches importance to mages; so they must have sent her somewhere where they might also send us."
Isaac, just like always just had to try to look better than Trevor," Of cause dander head, they must have sent her to a magic school. We do not have to worry about being sent to different institutes because they take captured mages to the nearest schools. And nearest school here is the Rachuos school of magic!"
A couple of minutes passed by and finally, there were soldiers standing at the door.
Trevor and the rest did not even bother looking for they already knew.
"Come with us." one of the soldiers said.
He expected to use brute force but when he saw them willingly standing up, he had to cancel his plans.
Two soldiers held both Trevor's hands.
They had already been warned about this destructive figure here.
They wouldn't be risking it this time.
But then, as they attempted to hold down Page.
The teens in front of them burst with power and were already pinning down one soldier each.
The soldiers were caught off guard but not any more.
Luck wasn't on the kids' side.
This time, they were facing mage sentinels. The previous slayers that had attempted to capture them at first were weaklings who were meant to capture normal people. So when the news of magic users existing in this group of kids reached the post station, a few mages were quickly sent over to capture them.
The soldiers that were pinned down stood up without any effort ignoring the wait on their shoulders.
Trevor and the rest retreated back, their backs against each other as their front was out on a defensive posture.
"UH!" One of the soldiers pinched the skin between his brows sighing, "You're all mages. Now we have to do it the hard way."
Immediately, all the soldiers activated red start rings around their wrists all the way up their forearms.
Page and the rest also activates theirs seeing this; but their lighting paled in comparison.
Trevor was the only one without his magic on.
But before they could do anything, one soldier twisted his wrist as the magic circle on his palm rotated and immediately chains of fire surrounded Trevor and his friends bounding them each unable to do anything.
They let out agonizing screams as the hot chains squeezed their skin and the magic circles they activated earlier dissipated.
The fire on the chains reduced until it was gone relieving the kids from pain but they couldn't use their magic anymore.
"Not so tough after all huh?"
They put Trevor and the rest on the horse drawn carriages then made their way to the slave confinements.
"Get in!" yelled a gigantic warden master opening the screeching cell gate.
He then shoved the new comers in without any mercy.
"Are you all okay?" Tony asked seeing the Warden leave.
"Yeah."
"So what's the plan now."
"We wait for a guild member come check us out. Every time they confine people here, they have to check if we have a tasabar (1). If we do, then they'll take us to the guilds schools for training. Rose, being a mage too, must have already been taken there." Page said.
"Hmmm...."
They all waited in the crowed cells for 3 hours.
An elderly man with a long white beard and a white robe made his way in the corridor with a warden examining the cells.
The staff in his hand made a sound every time it tapped the ground.
His appearance in general was like that of Dambledore from Harry Potter.
After a minute, he had finally made his way to Trevor's cell.
His gaze lingered on Trevor for some time before proceeding to the next cell stroking his chin.
"Bring me the mages." a deep loud voice echoed in the confinements.
"Yes my Esteemed Wizard." the warden said bowing down then yelled, "Get out the mages."
A group of wardens started unlocking each cell taking out the specific prisoners.
The mage prisoners lined up as they passed by the wizard for verification.
One by one they exited the dungeon and gathered outside.
Five minutes quickly passed by and everyone was out.
The chief warden brought out Trevor fast with a little nervousness.
The wizards eye's showed a strange gaze but it only lasted half a second.
"Esteemed Wizard, I don't know about this one. He doesn't have a tasabar but he managed to use magic against a slave slayer before we brought him here." The chief warden said.
"Hmmmm.... I see. Take him too." and with a slight node, Trevor was taken outside to be loaded in the carriages along with the others.
The Rachuos school of magic.
Students fought with each other as they trained.
Marvelous magic skills were being showcased allover.
Cheers echoed through the school on the other side of the school now and then.
Those who were training at the training ground next to the main gate, stopped what they were doing as they looked at the caged carriage male it's way into the school.
Another carriage was also drawn in right after the first one.
"Get them out."
"Yes esteemed Wizard." a soldier said moving to the carriages, he flipped through the keys and opened the cage when he saw found the right one.
A group of shabby dirty people stepped out of the carriages one by one.
"Eeew. Look at them."
"Don't tell me they'll be studying with us here."
"I come from a wealthy family. I can't share this school with a bunch of smelly people."
Murmurs rose here and there as the people stepped out of the carriages.
Trevor stretched his arms out wide and inhaled sharply, smelling the sweet fresh air he missed.
"I don't feel good with all these people looking at us." said Tony.
"Attention!" the wizard voiced out stopping the murmurs.
