Chapter 48: Humanoid wolf

"Ran boy, ran!" yelled Dira desperately limping as fast as he could. Placing his hand on top of his wound to stop the bleeding. "I said ruuuunnnn! I'll be fine!!" he yelled, when he saw Trevor halt and look at him. Hesitation clear in the boy's eyes. He was thankful he thought of him, but the situation now was dire, they had a golden ranked wolverine beast behind their tail. There was no time to help him else they would both be minced meat. "I said RUUUN!" he yelled again, giving in to the weakness in his knees. "GO save yourself!" Trevor could only bite his lip and clench his heart. And sped on his heels. "They shouldn't have come here unprepared." Let's have a little rewind, shall we.<<<< "Now it's starting to get fun around here." Trevor muttered with a pleased smile. Taking off his arm and leg guards. Then massaged his numb Jaws and wrists. He had sustained a lot of injuries and taken many falls from the training. Never the less, he was still satisfied. His left arm was numb from the constant and powerful strikes he received to his shield. The same applied to his right hand. Parrying all most of those attacks was extremely difficult and mentally distressing. They were so fast and powerful. At first, he had thought this dungeon would be an easy walk, because of the training he acquired from his first dungeon. Now he had, he didn't think that much of himself anymore. No matter how well he tried, he couldn't land a single strike on the instructor, probably because of the completely alien fighting style he was supposed to get used to. After taking a shower, in the public bathroom, he headed for the library to continue his usual research. If there was a chance he could understand more about magic even in the outside world, it would be now. Just as he worked his research, as lonely as usual, he received an unexpected visit to his study table. But he didn't need to think twice to know what the purpose behind it was. "Leave this, we need to go." Dira's breaking low voice spoke seriously. Without question, Trevor closed his book and followed him to his office where they entered through a portal. Before Trevor could admire the beauty of the place they had appeared in, a strong sense of fear and danger registered in his memory. When the characteristics of the place made became clearer and explained. The extremely bright moon in this area, the extreme bat noises and bowling of some unknown creature. They were in the 5th beast ring! What the hell were they doing here?! Before he could start making his complaints and childish distressed speech, Dira spoke, "We have no time, we have to hurry over there and grab a drach Lillypod before we get noticed." he pointed towards the some vined crops that stretched along the edges of river "Its right there, let's get this over with." Trevor said, in a hasty tone and unsettled tone. His hairs had long since risen from the moment they had gotten here. Obviously, something was bound to happen. Dira's low growl put him back in place when he had the sudden urge to hurry over. "Fine, let the old man handle it." he surrendered inwardly. Paying attention to Dira's expression to pick out any go signal, but nothing came. Though there was the occasional creasing of his brows and tilting his head to the side in an u comfortable manner. " Mm... Shut up!" he suddenly proclaimed. Earning him an unbelievable look from Trevor. But he wasn't even talking. After a long moment of assessing their situation, Dira finally spoke, "Everything looks clear. I think we can make our move now." "OH thank heavens...oh no!" Trevor retracted his sentence when he saw a shadowy figure approach the river bank from the other side. Luckily they hadn't jumped out of their hiding spot behind the huge bolder yet. "sssshhhh..... Stay put. try not to breath loudly." Whispered Dira. Bringing his calm breath even calmer. Trevor nodded in affirmation, but his eyes never left the shadowy figure on the other side of the bank. It walked on all fours and lowered its head down to drink from the river. Its black coat dazzled with the moons reflected light each time it swayed. He didn't need to look twice to know that the animal I front of him was a wolf. Suddenly, it rose from its lowered position and looked up into the moon, releasing a howl that could travel for kilometres and back. Immediately, something unexpected happen. Was it, transforming?! It's tiny dog body extended by nearly two folds and it's back straightened while it's limps grew even longer. It was adapting into a humanoid. He would think that it was werewolf that was now turning to its human form if not for the fact that the transformation stopped half way. In stead of harmless naked human, a humanoid human sized wolf that stood on two legs was the scene that settled in him. Its front limbs had turned into hands with fingers and elongated dark nails that looked like they could cut through any material. It placed its foot on a stone, and clenched its fists by its side before howling even louder, into the moon. If he had seen this earlier, he was sure this would be his greatest fear. Luckily he had never gotten an image of it, or else, he would have faced this monstrous beast in the parallel dungeon of fears. His heart skipped a bit when it suddenly turned its head towards their direction and sniffled its nose. Luckily, he had withdrawn his head almost immediately. But soon he realized he was breathing heavily. "Crap!" he cursed inwardly. Shutting his eyes tightly, he prayed for the best. And after a moment silence, he slowly opened his eyes and peeked to see whether it was still there. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw nothing but his relief only lasted a second when he felt a low feral grown and a wet substance dripping on his fire head. "I hope it isn't.......oh Crap!" he exclaimed when his eyes came into contact with the wolf's yellow ones. It's nose had formed wrinkles to the skin between his eyes as it bore its sharp teeth at him in a growl. "W-wizard Dira." he forced the words out of his mouth, his eyes still locked with the wolf's. Only turning to face where he stood to discover he was gone. But before he could have the thought of being abandoned, a white beam hit the wolf from hits back, tossing it quite a distance away. Without wasting a second, he took advantage of the time created and ran from the bolder, towards where Wizard Dira stood with his staff still pointed at the wolf's direction. "Get the pod Trevor, Now!"
