Grandma nestled in her blankets didn't stir when Gailin closed the door and looked about her with wonder. The sorcerer who stood on the far side of the table looked at her without surprise and wordlessly motioned for her to go see how her grandmother fared. As if Gailin's return were a common occurrence, he began to ladle out two bowls of the stew she had detected.
