At that moment, Choi Hun-ae remained hoping that the pneumonia would be similar with SARS in 2003, which was defeated within only several months. More than two years later, however, it remained troubling countless human beings in the world, although many politicians, including South Korean ones, regarded the economy as more important and therefore decided to abandon strict epidemic prevention policies.

China Mainland was different from these ones and therefore saved millions of lives; however, it was undeniable that her economy was seriously damaged. As South Korean merchants in China Mainland, Choi Seong-hyang and other directors of his own enterprise were all suffering from an economic crisis.

Especially, on August 28 2020, Ban Sang-mi gave birth to twins: a daughter Choi Hyeon-ae and a son Choi Beop-gyeong only half one hour younger than her. As there had been two more persons at home, Choi Seong-hyang needed to spend much money in feeding them, although he was certainly glad to have one more daughter and one more son. Accordingly, Choi Hun-ae, as the eldest daughter, guessed in the spring of 2021:

“In the past, I was a princess and didn’t need to ponder over the methods to earn money; but now it’s different. Although my family was still rich, I should manage to earn some money by myself.”

This was why she started to search for a part-time job. What disappointed her was that it was not so easy, due to the sluggish economy in South Korea and even the whole world; worse, because of her special appearance, although a restaurant boss had ever planned to employ her, he asked her whether she had some health problems. Unwilling to cheat anyone else, she answered: “Yes, I’m suffering from Marfan syndrome.” To prevent the boss from refusing her, she emphasized in a hurry: “But I already underwent surgery that improved the quality of my health; more important, this disease isn’t infective, so I won’t endanger anyone else.”

What moved her was that the boss finally believed in and employed her; as a result, Choi Hun-ae worked as a part-time waitress in this restaurant, when she did not have any class at school. To avoid the transmission of disease that was named as “Covid-19” by the World Health Organization, every staff member of this restaurant had to wear a mask when working. Although this behavior caused Choi Hun-ae to swelter, it concurrently hid the lower half of her face, especially the overly long chin; therefore, customers did not suspect her health condition, as they did not pay attention to the most abnormal and visible feature of hers.
