Next morning, Wang Junjie chatted with Choi Hun-ae, who asked him in Mandarin: “Hi, Wang Junjie, you came back from Wuhan, didn’t you?”
“Exactly,” Wang Junjie answered and forced a smile. “But some neighbors asked me to get out of our housing estate.”
“Why did they do so?” surprised, Choi Hun-ae questioned. Before this high school classmate could answer, she noticed the reason and therefore said: “OK, I have known. Because you came back from Wuhan, right?”
“Absolutely right,” Wang Junjie agreed with her. “But this was too absurd. Surely you haven't forgotten that when I chatted with you last time, I was overly optimistic about the situation in Wuhan; as it was worsening, however, I became prudent enough and bought some masks. More importantly, as I would attend final exams of my courses soon, during those days I never left my school, because I had to review my lessons everyday. This was why I was impossible to suffer from the disease.”
“You’re right, Wang Junjie,” said Choi Hun-ae. “As I know, there are more than 10 millions persons that live in Wuhan. No matter how terrible the disease is, it’s impossible to infect so many persons together.”
Compared with Wuhan, many cities and towns in the world, certainly including China, had much less populations. As Choi So-dong never came to China in the past, that night, Choi Hun-ae advised her: “Let’s travel in Chinese cities or towns someday, baby.”
“As long as I’m travelling with you, of course I’ll be very happy, mommy,” replied Choi So-dong, who spoke out a problem right after this. “But I don’t understand Chinese language, you know.”
“Oh my baby, why are you so foolish now?” Choi Hun-ae laughed and said. “I’m so good at Chinese language that I can be an excellent translator for you. You don’t need to be worry about this problem.”
Noticing that her lover was right, Choi So-dong also laughed and then mocked herself: “Exactly, mommy. Maybe because I miss you everyday. As my brain is full of you, I have been unable to ponder over other issues.”
“What a varmint you are, baby! You’re really the best at teasing me,” said Choi Hun-ae.
“This is what I wan to say to you, mommy,” replied Choi So-dong, who are indeed able to let her lover feel happy, especially since the latter’s family was isolated due to the problem about the public health.
“By the way, mommy,” Choi So-dong continued to say. “Weren’t you interested in my experiences in the university? You rarely asked me for them.”
Due to this question, Choi Hun-ae suddenly noticed such detail. Indeed, since Choi So-dong became her girlfriend, every time they met each other, she paid the most attention to the s****l behavior with Choi So-dong; accordingly, as the latter said, she rarely inquired about her experience in Korean National Police University.
Therefore, Choi Hun-ae replied: “OK, baby, what experience you want to tell me?”
“Several boys pursued me in the university.”
Such events themselves were never shocking. As Choi So-dong was a sweet girl, when they were unaware of her s****l orientation, several boys’ loving her was unavoidable. However, as her own girlfriend was after all “harassed”, Choi Hun-ae felt unhappy and then asked: “You didn’t love any of them, did you?”
Choi So-dong’s facial expression immediately became surprised, as if she were looking at a rare biological. Right after this, she answered: “Of course! What’s more, I told each of them...”
“That you’re my girlfriend?”
Choi So-dong, who desired to laugh loudly, managed to control herself and then answered: “Of course not. I told each of them: I didn’t love him at all; this was why he should give up immediately, or I would dislike him.”
“What’s their attitude then?” asked Choi Hun-ae. “Did they go on pursuing you?”
“No, they didn’t,” answered Choi So-dong. “Although all of them were disappointed, none of them continued to disturb me.”
“OK, they were as gentle as Keiji Okazaki,” Choi Hun-ae guessed.
